The future singer was born on June 15, 1946 in the Egyptian city of Alexandria. In addition to him, there was another son in the family. During the Suez crisis, the family moved to Greece, the homeland of their ancestors. Demis's mom was a dancer. My father worked as an engineer, but he was also close to creativity - he played the guitar superbly.

Children in such a creative family did not waste time on in-depth study of exact sciences. From childhood, they preferred to develop their creativity. Demis from a young age was distinguished by a sharp mind and talents. He sang superbly. Therefore, his parents decided to assign him to the church choir. Here he honed his performing skills for five years. Demis learned to play the organ, trumpet and double bass, studied the theory of music.

Demis Roussos: the path to the musical Olympus

In 1963, fate brought Demis together with talented musicians. So a musical group was born, where Roussos got the role of vocalist. Already the first musical compositions brought fame to the collective. However, in 1968 a military coup broke out in Greece. The musical team, in which Demis took part, moved to Paris. Soon all of France started talking about young musicians.

The group's popularity grew rapidly. But Roussos wanted something more. He leaves the creative team, opting for a solo career. The singer's first solo disc was released in 1971. Then several more albums appeared. A video clip was filmed for one of the tracks.

Two years later, Demis began to travel around the world with concerts. Gradually, the work of Roussos firmly entrenched in the top lines of music ratings. Three songs of the singer took a place in the top ten albums in Great Britain.

In 1987, Roussos interrupted his travels around the world and returned to Greece. Here he worked hard on an album, which was supposed to include digital versions of his best compositions.

Personal life of Roussos

The charismatic performer enjoyed considerable success with women. Roussos entered into his first marriage at the very beginning of his creative career. A girl named Monique became his wife. She gave Demis a daughter, Emily, but soon after the birth of the child filed for divorce: Monique did not want to share her husband with numerous fans.

A year after the divorce, Roussos creates a family for the second time. His next wife, Dominica, gave birth to a son, Cyril, to Demis. However, she could not forgive her husband for treason and left him, leaving her son in the care of her father.

The third wife of Roussos was an American named Pamela. Demis met her in a bookstore. However, this marriage union did not last long either.

The longest was the marriage of the singer with the Frenchwoman Maria-Teresa. She was a yoga instructor. However, this time Demis did not make an offer to his chosen one. The marriage was civil.

The talented Greek performer passed away on January 25, 2015. It is assumed that the cause of death was a serious illness, but the relatives of Roussos chose not to disclose this fact to the general public.
