Biography of the great doctor

Oleg Feodosievich Tarasov was born on January 17, 1924 in Petrograd in the family of a Russian naval officer and a famous ballerina.

After graduating from school in 1941, Tarasov wanted to follow in his father's footsteps and enlist in the Soviet Navy, but the outbreak of the war canceled all his plans. In July of the same year, he was drafted into the war, where he was enrolled in a machine-gun train. Six months later, the detachment was disbanded and Oleg returned to his hometown. In Leningrad, at the insistence of his parents, he went to work as a firefighter and part-time electrician at the local Institute of Pediatrics. Despite the blockade of Leningrad, classes begin again at the medical institution. In 1942, Oleg Feodosievich became his student. After completing the first course, he was again called up to the front in the ranks of the army. Perfectly fluent in German and English, Tarasov ended up in a group of scouts and went through the entire war with them. He was awarded the Order of the Red Star and the Order of the Patriotic War, as well as five medals of various denominations.
