A variety of musical styles, which have their loyal fans and admirers, are designed for certain moments in life. Even representatives of religious movements choose for themselves a certain character of chanting, peculiar only to them. For Muslims, for example, the nasheed direction is typical.
The type of musical performance "nasheed" is a kind of chant played without the use of any musical instruments; it is characteristic of Islam and the traditions of its religious cult. According to tradition, nasheeds are sung only by males who perform either solo or in a choir.
Tradition and modernity
Musical instruments are prohibited from being used for religious reasons and considerations. Theologians do not accept any extraneous sounds in the process of chanting. However, in modern nasheeds, contrary to tradition, a large number of directions have appeared, in which some instruments and extraneous sounds are still used.
Islamic nasheeds have a verse pronunciation. They are melodic and even without musical instruments do not lose their sound. Nasheed is not at all a call to future generations. For a long time they have been helping Muslims to improve their life and return to everyday affairs after certain situations, many claim that they are akin to internal meditation, which brings a person back from the hustle and bustle to himself.
History
At different times, nasheeds had different names. The first mention of them is found in scriptures belonging to the beginning of the third century. Such chants were called qasaid or tagbir. Imams did not recognize nasheeds and considered them heresy, for example, Imam Ahmad actively urged his followers not to get involved with this dubious innovation. However, this could not stop the spread of nasheeds. These chants contain texts that do not fit into the taboo category from a Muslim point of view.
Muslims recognize that nasheeds are not what they used to be. Previously, they contained the meaning of knowledge, jihad and iman. Now, in the texts, notes of debauchery are more and more often traced, which Islam cannot accept in any way, these are the sounds of musical instruments.
According to the adherents of tradition, performers are increasingly giving preference to getting more acceptable melody than meaning. For them, the musical qualities of the nasheeds are more important than the preservation of the meaning that has been invested in these chants for many centuries. Today nasheeds are performed even in English, which Muslims consider a manifestation of an absolutely disrespectful attitude towards them.
