Every year, thousands of young men come to recruiting units, from where they are sent to military units. The serene civilian life is being replaced by a harsh, military one. And the main fear of all conscripts is, of course, obscurity. Especially little is known about this type of service as in the navy.
What is the Navy
The navy is the largest part of a state's naval forces. The main tasks of the Navy are to ensure the security of the borders of the state, protection from attack and penetration into the territory, as well as ensuring the presence in the waters of the state (demonstration of the flag, etc.). The Russian Navy includes: submarine troops, flood troops, coastal troops and also naval aviation. Submarine troops are designed for surprise strikes against continental and enemy targets, as well as for reconnaissance. The Naval Forces provide protection during the transport of assault forces, in case of mine danger, and also help submarines when they return to base. The main function of the coastal troops is to protect coastal areas. And naval aviation is designed to counter and retaliate against waterborne and coastal enemies.
Specificity of service in the Navy
Service in the navy differs markedly from service in various ground forces. No, this does not apply to any general concepts: the period is the same as elsewhere - 12 months, the age of the conscript is from 18 to 27 years. But there are also some differences. First, it concerns the presence of bullying, and in the case of the fleet, its absence. This can be explained as follows. Living conditions on a ship are much more severe than on land. And this is natural, because young people have to spend almost all their time on the ship, not being able to go ashore. In addition, each soldier here has a certain range of tasks for the entire period of service - for example, one monitors the situation on the horizon: is it possible to see other ships, enemy ships; another - for the control of the ship, the third - for the situation in the hold. When everyone is busy with their own business, there is no time for various hazing and hazing (oppression of soldiers by officers). This is especially the case when the ship is regularly at sea. And the joint performance of their duties ensures the reliable operation of the ship.
But there are times when the ship is moored to the shore. Then the soldiers live in barracks on the shore, and their only duties are cleaning the ship (scrubbing the deck) and keeping themselves in good condition. Such breaks between going out to sea are not uncommon, and they are quite long-term - after all, each such exit requires certain financial costs, which are sometimes not enough.
