Almost all orphanages gratefully accept things, clothes, shoes, books, appliances, cosmetics, stationery, textiles and much more. At the same time, it is not at all necessary to be a major financier-philanthropist in order to help orphaned children at least a little with what you are able to share with them. So, you decided to give some of your belongings to the baby's house, but do not know where to start?

Step 1
To begin with, soberly assess and carefully examine the things that you want to transfer to the orphanage. As a rule, the capital's orphanages have already stopped accepting used clothes from the population, since most often people carry very shabby and old, and sometimes unwashed things. Therefore, if you have collected a bag with normal clothes, which you would gladly and without shame give to your friend, sister, your child, and they would wear it with no less pleasure, then you are halfway to the title of a worthy benefactor. Children will be delighted with good and modern clothes. Sportswear and high-quality footwear are readily accepted in orphanages.
Step 2
All clothing should be clean, well washed, dry, preferably ironed. Inspect for torn items, with diverging seams, musty, and stains that cannot be washed. Clothes should not be stretched, with fluffy edges. Badly damaged things, even if they were once very expensive and beautiful, should be thrown away. If you are at a loss as to which clothes should be left and which should not, consult with the administration of the orphanage or, in extreme cases, when transferring things, warn them that you have not sorted them.
Step 3
If you are going to transfer household appliances, books or something else to the orphanage, also inspect everything for external and hidden defects: if pages are missing in books, if electronics are working, etc. It is better if the transferred items have their original packaging and instructions for use.
Step 4
Transfer everything you have collected to any child welfare center. Step 5
Orphans in hospitals are also in dire need of ordinary but high-quality things and items, such as personal hygiene products for girls, soap, toothpaste, powder, creams, dusting powders, baby oils, shampoos, diapers. These hygiene products must not be printed. And, of course, sick kids are doubly pleased to receive a new toy, book, coloring book, etc. To assist hospitals, contact the office of the Federal Service for Surveillance in Healthcare in your city or directly to a medical institution that treats orphans.
Step 6
If you want to help a specific orphanage in a targeted manner, you can take your things yourself, but during working hours and having previously warned the administration about your arrival. If you are a parishioner of any church, then they will probably tell you where you can turn in things for orphans. There are also children's shelters at churches and monasteries, which will never refuse any charitable assistance.
