Skater biography

Tatyana was born on May 22, 1986 in the Ukraine in the city of Dnepropetrovsk. Her dad was a military man, so from childhood he began to accustom the girl to a healthy lifestyle and sports. At the age of four, he took her to an ice rink. There was just a set in the figure skating section. Tanya was a very plump child and did not immediately like the coaches. They did not want to take her, but hard work at an early age allowed the girl to start her sports career.

Volosozhar devoted a lot of time to training, and the girl's first success came at the age of seven, when she won the competition in her age group. Her successes made it possible to draw the attention of honored figure skating coaches of Ukraine to Tatiana. So the skater was invited to pair skating. Petr Kharchenko became her first partner. Together they became the national champions among juniors, but then their general career did not work out and the couple broke up.

In 2004, Tatiana began training with Stanislav Morozov. Together, the skaters became champions of Ukraine three times and even took 12th place at the 2006 Olympic Games. Then they found a new coach in Germany and moved to live in this country. There was clear progress in their speeches. Tatiana and Stanislav improved their performance and took eighth place at the 2010 Olympics. Then Morozov went to coaching, and Volosozhar decided to continue her sports career.

Tatyana received an offer to play for the Russian national team together with Maxim Trankov. In 2010, she moved to this country and received citizenship. This was a landmark decision in the life of an athlete. Moreover, the coach of the pair was Tatiana's former partner Stanislav Morozov.

Already in the first season, the skaters were able to win the Russian Cup, and the next year they became the champions of Russia. The athletes continued their ascent to the Olympus and trained a lot. First they became European champions, and then won the world championship.

The 2014 Olympic Games in Sochi became a real triumph for the skaters. First, Tatiana and Maxim won gold in the team competition, and then won in pair skating. Their programs have become real masterpieces in ice performances.

After the Olympics, the athletes did not perform for a year and a half. This was due to Maxim's health problems. But in 2016 they became champions of Russia and Europe. Then there was a clear decline in their performances, and the couple announced their retirement.

But Volosozhar did not deviate far from sports and continues to participate in various ice shows. She also takes part in staging performances on ice. Together with Maxim, Tatyana released a biographical book.
