Biography of the athlete

Daria Andreevna was born on June 22, 1993 in Irkutsk. From the very birth, the girl began to show interest in sports. She worked in the local children's sports society. At first, little Dasha did not stand out against the general background among her peers. On the contrary, it was considered hopeless.

But the girl did not give up and gave all the best in training. This aspiration allowed her at the age of eight to fall under the tutelage of a very gifted teacher and trainer Olga Buyanova. It was she who insisted that Daria take rhythmic gymnastics seriously.

After several successful performances in Russian competitions, the head coach of the Russian national team Irina Viner drew attention to Dmitrieva. This was followed by the invitation of the athlete to Moscow and her imminent move. Moreover, together with Daria, the girl's first coach went to the capital. At that time, Dmitrieva was almost 14 years old.

A year later, Daria began to successfully compete in international competitions. She first became the winner of the European Championship. Then Dmitrieva, along with other gymnasts, became the world champion. At the Russian Championship, the girl managed to win the entire set of awards. After the first successes, the athlete received the title of Honored Master of Sports.

The next season, Dmitrieva again became the world and European champion, as well as the winner of the Universiade. But the main dream of any athlete is to compete in the Olympic Games.

Such an honor to represent the country fell to Daria in 2012. She won an internal team fight against other gymnasts for the right to compete in the Olympics. In London, the girl became the silver medalist in the all-around games. This was a very serious success for the athlete. After returning to her homeland, Dmitrieva received a state award - the Order of Merit for the Fatherland.

The next season after the London Olympics, Daria was seriously injured and needed surgery. It took a lot of time to recover, and the girl never returned to big sports. She did not officially announce the end of her sports career, but simply went to work as a coach.

Dmitrieva received the necessary coaching license and opened her own school of rhythmic gymnastics. She also created a wedding agency that deals with weddings and other celebrations.
