Childhood and youth
Yadviga Poplavskaya was born on May 1, 1949 in Minsk (Belarus) in the family of the choirmaster Konstantin Poplavsky. He dreamed of creating a family musical ensemble. In addition to Jadwiga, her older sister and younger brother were brought up in the family. All children received musical education from early childhood.
Initially, little Yadya mastered the violin, but then her parents decided that it was better for the girl to play the piano. Creative evenings were regularly held in the Poplavskys' house, in which not only all family members took part, but also famous Belarusian performers and musicians at that time.
Yadviga studied very well at school, and devoted all her free time to music lessons. After leaving school, Yadviga entered the Belarusian Conservatory, from which she graduated in piano in 1972, and then again in the composition department in 1988.
Singing career
At the start of her career, the young Yadviga dreamed of creating her own vocal and instrumental ensemble (at that time, Pesnyary was very popular). Her dream came true already in 1971, when she and her comrades created their own VIA "Verasy". In the team, she performed several roles at once:
- was engaged in arrangement;
- was a soloist;
- played keyboards.
In addition, in the team, Yadviga was considered an informal leader. Initially, the collective was exclusively female, but in 1973 young guys appeared in the collective, among whom was Alexander Tikhanovich, the future husband of the singer.
Since 1974, the collective began to tour a lot, take part in various music competitions. The song "Malinovka" brought great success. Despite this, in 1987, Yadviga and Alexander left the team. After a series of troubles, the couple created their own team called "Happy Accident".
Yadviga and Alexander received national recognition, and were also awarded state awards, receiving the titles of People's and Honored Artists of Belarus. They performed together until Tikhanovich's death (2017).
Family life
Yadviga Poplavskaya and Alexander Tikhanovich met while studying at the conservatory. But their relationship grew into a closer friendship, and then into love, only at the moment when Alexander became a member of the team created by Yadviga.
Young people got married in 1975, and already in 1980 their daughter was born, whom the parents decided to call Anastasia. Alexander Tikhanovich died on January 28, 2017 from a lung disease. Some time after the death of her husband, Yadvig, together with her daughter Anastasia and other famous artists, they honored the memory of Tikhanovich with a big concert.
