Ivan Uspensky is a young surgeon from Ryazan. When he fell ill with a complex form of leukemia, he fought to the end, did not let himself lose heart and wrote a kind, funny book about his life.
Biography
Ivan was born in Ryazan. His mother worked as a doctor. It is not surprising that the boy liked this profession from childhood. His favorite pastime at that age was playing in the hospital. He listened to his toys with a phonendoscope, measured their pressure, treated them as best he could.
In a book written later, Ivan speaks with great warmth about his maternal grandmother. A woman could interest her grandson and three granddaughters of different ages. She turned any occupation into a game. Even collecting Colorado beetles was fun with my grandmother.
One of Ivan's grandfathers was an honored inventor of the country, a speed skater. The second grandfather made a great contribution to the development of transport in the Ryazan region.
Ivan Uspensky recalled how happy he was when he was presented with a two-wheeled bicycle. Even in his book, the famous doctor told how the Lyceum Day was organized at the school. Then some children had to play janitors, but one child got sick. And since Ivan had an excellent memory, at the rehearsal he heard the words for this scene, he remembered them. Therefore, he was called to replace the sick child.
But the boy was wearing a different suit, consisting of an old sweater, cockerel hat, mom's kitchen apron, huge leather boots.
With his characteristic humor, Ivan recalled how the people laughed when they saw three janitors and a bum on the stage. That was the word Ouspensky called himself in an awkward outfit.
Personal life
Ivan Uspensky died when he was a little over 30 years old. But by this time he had done a lot. The young man had a wonderful personal life - a beloved wife and three sons.
How the world collapsed
But in February 2016, the guy was diagnosed with a terrible disease. Since he was a physician himself, received a specialized education, he knew that he had to fight to the last, even if the tests showed that the leukocytes were 10 times more than the norm. Caring people helped the young doctor. Funds were collected for him for treatment.
Ivan learned that in 2016, American doctors used a new drug and saved a girl who had the same form of leukemia as him. But then this treatment was used only for children.
After 2 years, Ouspensky had a chance to undergo the same chemotherapy course in Hong Kong. But time was lost … In November 2018, Ouspensky passed away.
Creation
During his short life, Ivan managed a lot: he found his girlfriend, gave birth to three beautiful sons, and he also had a career. When Ouspensky found out that he was seriously ill, he began to write notes, and over time they turned into a fascinating book. It is called "The Witness of Life". The work is autobiographical, unprofessional, but written so easily and with humor, as if a writer created it.
Just one episode about playing the piano is worth a lot! Mom decided that young Vanya needed to develop his fingers in order for him to become a surgeon, so she sent him to a music school. But the boy did not like classes, he often made mistakes when performing sketches. Then my mother came up with such a method. She told her son that the boy should imagine that all his relatives were standing behind him, and the Nazis would shoot them one by one for each boy's mistake. So the child mentally said goodbye to his grandfather, to his sister, after which he would finally get her room.
Ivan tried not to lose heart to the last. And he wrote a book as a keepsake for his sons so that they would know what their father was like - Ivan Uspensky.
