From early childhood, James Fox became his own on different film sets, and to date he has played more than a hundred roles in full-length films and TV series. Films with his participation "The Lost World", "Anna Pavlova" and others are watched with pleasure by viewers from different countries.
Biography
James Fox was born in 1939 in London. His creative family consisted entirely of people of art: his mother was an actress, his father was a theater agent, and his grandfather was a playwright. Many have heard his name - Frederick Lonsdale. Therefore, the boy lived in the world of theater, drama and cinema.
Already in childhood, he showed acting skills, and at the age of eleven he was approved for a role in the film "Magnet". It was one of the main roles, and James played there his own age - a boy with whom extraordinary things happen.
After this role, they began to offer him another job in similar films, but this interfered with his studies, and the parents preferred education to the early acting fame of their son.
Actor's career
He remembered this episode of their life well, and when he returned from the army, he again decided to try his hand at acting. The first were episodic roles in serials, and in 1963 he played one of the main roles in the drama "Servant". Actually, this role basically determined his further role. Here he created the image of an aristocrat - weak-willed, spineless, who fell under the influence of an insidious butler.
He coped with the role so brilliantly that other directors began to invite him when there was a need for such characters. Therefore, his next work was similar to the role in "The Servant" - this is the role of the rich Jason Rogers in the tape "Pursuit" (1966), from which his wife literally twists the ropes.
Fortunately, he managed to get out of the vicious circle of "actor-aristocrat", and in the film "Isadora" he played the role of a lover. However, the sharpest contrast with the previous role he showed in the film "Performance" - here he created the image of a murderer who escaped from prison. Then he finds himself in even more difficult alterations, from which he is forced to get out, using all his prison skills.
Every person's life has ups and downs. After successful work in the cinema, Fox began to feel depressed, and for a long time he disappeared from the field of view of fans. The reason was the death of his father. James could not come to terms with the loss, began to take sedatives, which led to a loss of interest in life.
In the early 80s, the actor returned to the cinema and again began to play aristocrats. One of the best films of that time was "A Trip to India". Both audiences and critics took it with great approval. The next interesting films with Fox's participation are Anna Karenina and In the Villa. He also starred in the series "Miss Marple Agatha Christie", "Poirot", "Merlin" and others, and they all have high ratings.
Personal life
Journalists wrote several times about the actor's novels with colleagues in the workshop, but he married a girl who had nothing to do with the world of cinema. His wife's name is Mary Elizabeth, he and James have been happily married for many years, and they have five children.
Now in cinematic circles you can already hear the name of one of the sons - Lawrence Fox, who became an actor like his father. He played roles in the films Jane Austen, The Pit, The Golden Age.
