In Belgium, a very unusual law was developed prohibiting men from behaving indecently and offensively with women. It will concern both the Belgians themselves and tourists.
The new law, according to the authorities, will be able to solve the problem of relations between men and women in Belgium. It is directed primarily against immigrants and tourists who have not yet learned how to behave correctly in a civilized society. Belgian women have repeatedly complained about the intrusive courtship of men, as well as their indecent behavior. The final straw was an amateur film directed by 25-year-old student Sophie Peters.
The girl acquired a hidden camera and recorded her walk through the streets of Brussels with it. Despite the fact that she was modestly dressed and just walked without attracting attention to herself, the men pestered her with rude courtship, and when she refused to meet them, they allowed themselves obscene remarks about her. Moreover, some men even openly offered the girl an intimate relationship and tried to convince her to immediately go to the hotel, but they did not respond adequately to the refusal. The girl posted her amateur film entitled "Woman on the Street" on the site and opened access to it. A few days later, the video caused a public outcry in Belgium and France, and the authorities, having seen it, decided to pass a new law.
From now on, every man who allows himself to treat an unfamiliar woman in a public place obscene or even more insultingly, will be obliged to pay a fine of 250 euros. According to statistics, Belgian ladies are most often harassed by men who come from the Middle East, and therefore it is against them that the law is directed in the first place. The authorities said that the problem of poor attitudes towards the fair sex in Belgium, France and a number of other states is due precisely to the fact that many men live in them from countries whose culture and traditions are unacceptable for European society.
