Biography
Sergei Sergeevich Bondarev was born in the Amur region, in the village of Seryshevo in February 1973 in a decent family. At the age of 7, he went to school, graduated from 8 classes. After that, Sergei entered the vocational school. Here he received a secondary specialized education, becoming a certified machinist, tractor driver and driver.
Then the young man decided to continue his studies. Since Sergey wanted to work as a teacher, he entered the Pedagogical University of Blagoveshchensk. The young man loved sports, so he chose the Faculty of Physical Education. At this institute, he received a second specialty, becoming the commander of a motorized rifle platoon.
When Sergei was given a characterization from this educational institution, it was indicated that he showed himself at the institute as a hardworking and diligent student. Here he received the first rank in swimming and hand-to-hand combat.
When the young man was 18 years old, he decided to go to serve in the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Sergei was sent on business trips to Chechnya three times. Here he was trained as a sapper. He also completed courses at the Amur Internal Affairs Directorate, where he studied with honors the procedure for the use of military weapons. When a young man was given a characterization, it was written here that in the training center he showed himself to be a competent employee, clearly solved complex problems, his colleagues respected him. It was also indicated that Sergei Bondarev made quick decisions in emergency situations. He was a brave and proactive person.
War
Sergei Sergeevich knew about the hostilities firsthand. He took part in the second Chechen war. In 2000, the future famous hero was able to defuse explosives that were installed in an underground separatist radio center. With this, he made a great contribution to obtaining important information that was in the radio center.
When Sergei Bondarev, together with his comrades, fought his first battle, they were able to force 30 bandits to retreat. From the second battle, Sergei Sergeevich carried out two wounded comrades from the battlefield under the incessant enemy fire.
The last fight
In June 2001, a reconnaissance group was tasked with surveying the area. Sergey was at the head of the team. When the young man saw a hidden enemy radio-controlled land mine, he realized that as soon as a group of comrades pulled up to him, the enemy sitting in ambush would put this device on alert. There was no time to ponder, the brave hero shouted to the approaching guys to lie down, and he covered the land mine with his own body. As a result, an explosion was heard, and the hero died. But he was able to save all his comrades.
In early 2002, Sergei Bondarev was awarded the title of Hero of the Russian Federation, but posthumously. He was also awarded the medal "For Courage". In honor of this hero, a monument was erected in Blagoveshchensk.
