Arsen Avakov was born in Armenia and came to Ukraine at the age of two. Here he lived all these years and made a good career. Today Avakov is known as a politician and businessman. For several years, he has discovered the second hundred richest people in Ukraine.
Childhood and youth
Arsen was born in 1964 in the Kirov village of the Azerbaijani capital. My father was a military pilot, so the family often changed their place of residence. Two years after the birth of their son, the parents moved to Kharkov.
After leaving school, Arsen entered the Polytechnic Institute and received his education as a systems engineer. Fellow students remembered him as a person with an active life position and leadership qualities. Starting from the 3rd year, he headed the student construction brigade in Tyumen. In parallel with his studies, he combined work at the Research Institute of Water Protection.
Businessman
In 1990 Avakov became the head of the country's first joint-stock company called Investor. He was the head of the organization for 15 years. During this time, the joint-stock company has subordinated more than 40 enterprises of various industries: from food to energy. On the basis of the financial and industrial group, a commercial bank "Basis" appeared, its partners were the leading enterprises of the Kharkov region: heating networks, a distillery, a tea factory, a bakery.
In addition, the successful businessman went into the construction business, opened a brokerage and transport company, as well as a publishing house. With the arrival of Arsen Borisovich in the civil service, a new page of his biography began, and asset management passed into the hands of the family.
Politician
Since 2005, Avakov has headed the Kharkiv Regional Administration. With the advent of the new government, five years later, he lost this position and was forced to hide from criminal prosecution in Italy. He was charged with misappropriation of a state-owned land plot. In 2012, the official returned to his homeland and continued his political career. From the Batkivshchyna party, he received a deputy mandate in the Verkhovna Rada. And a year later he stood on the side of the protester on the Maidan in the center of Kiev. Avakov was personally involved in the arrangement of the tent camp in the center of the capital. After the events of February 2014 in the new government, Yatsenyuk received the post of Minister of Internal Affairs. The first decision of Avakov in his new position was the dissolution of the Berkut division.
Unlike other members of the government, the official retained his post under the new Prime Minister Groisman. He holds this position today, strengthening his own political influence in the Cabinet of Ministers in every possible way.
Personal life
Avakov has been married to his wife Inna for many years. Since 1994 she has been actively involved in his business projects. For a long time, my wife headed the Bazis JSCB.
The couple raised their son Alexander. The young man served in the special battalion of the Ministry of Internal Affairs "Kiev-1". The unit was directly involved in the anti-terrorist operation in the southeast of the country. Today the younger Avakov and his mother are Arsen Borisovich's main business partners.
How does he live today
Avakov owns dozens of companies and enterprises. His deposits in the accounts of Ukrainian and foreign banks amount to tens of millions of dollars. He does not forget about charity and is the chairman of the Renaissance society, which replaced the charitable foundation named by the businessman in honor of his deceased sister.
At various times, the name of Arsen appeared in various high-profile scandals. Some were associated with his professional activities, he was accused of embezzlement and threats against other people. Recent history concerns the acquisition by the Minister of a very expensive villa on the Mediterranean coast.
In the parliamentary and journalistic environment, there have been repeated statements that the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs is preparing a coup d'etat and the creation of a military dictatorship. Time will tell how events will develop and what awaits this famous political figure on the Ukrainian Olympus of power.
