Russia, like any other democratic country in the world, has its own system of political parties. Russia supports a multi-party system, that is, various ideological parties can boldly put forward their political ideas, candidates for government posts and municipal offices.
Party as a political organization
A political party is an association of people who express public opinion (the opinion of a certain but significant percentage of the country's citizens) on various topics and have a certain value in shaping the consciousness, will and protection of the interests of adherents.
The status of a political party is assigned to associations with a total number of at least 10 thousand people and regional offices in more than half of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation. The party undergoes mandatory state registration in accordance with current legislation.
A political party has its own charter, name, symbols, procedure for the entry of future party members and other documentary evidence of its uniqueness and organization of the structure. It is worth highlighting the dominant political parties, and these are:
- United Russia, - Fair Russia, - Communist Party of Russia, - Liberal Democratic Party.
4 batches with one head
These four parties are large and participate in all elections. In addition to them, 73 more parties are registered, which are less popular among the people, but still participate in various state events and programs.
Each party defends its own ideology, which forms the basis of the political platform and is designed to defend some of the rights and freedoms of citizens or change them (rights and freedoms).
For example, a communist or social democratic party defends the interests of the working class, that is, ordinary working people. And the main ideas of these political parties are freedom of equality, the establishment of justice and the achievement of guarantees and human rights, as well as the protection of the working population from social oppression and exploitation.
It is important to note that after the official elections to the State Duma in 2003 for such a party as United Russia, a system of parties headed by the dominant one has developed in the country. That is, in fact, there is one party in the country, which is the main one, and all other political organizations perform only an auxiliary function.
Thus, at the moment in Russia there are 76 different parties led by United Russia, which assumes the dominant functions and which is the ideologue of such currents as conservatism, pragmatism, liberalism and centrism.
