Nature endows many people with talent. But in order to reveal it, each person goes through his own, sometimes very difficult path. Galina Vishnevskaya gained worldwide fame thanks to her perseverance, strong character and hard work.
Childhood and youth
During her lifetime, this singer was called the legend of the Russian theater. Galina Pavlovna Vishnevskaya had a unique voice - a coloratura soprano. Until a certain age, she did not even suspect about her abilities. Circumstances developed in such a way that as a girl she began to sing, and only after that the observant teachers found out which nugget was in front of them. In the biography of the singer, it is noted that she avoided that mandatory procedure called voice acting. And she studied the basics of acting at a mature age.
The future opera singer and teacher was born on October 25, 1926 in the family of a military man, and her last name was Ivanova. Parents lived in the city of Leningrad. A few months after the birth, all the worries about the girl were taken over by her grandmother Daria, who took her to her in Kronstadt. Mother and father parted ways, practically forgetting about their child. Galina grew up and gained life experience, not standing out in any way among her peers. When the war began, she was unable to leave the besieged city. Unable to withstand the hardships of blockade conditions, in 1942 my grandmother died. The girl was accidentally discovered by soldiers of an air defense battery.
On the creative path
Galina, despite her young age, tried to help the fighters in their daily activities. And in the evenings she sang songs for them in a dugout or in an open area. In 1944, immediately after the lifting of the blockade, a music school was opened in Leningrad. Vishnevskaya became one of the first students, diligently mastering musical notation. After a while, she was enrolled in the troupe of the opera house for "singing along". When the leading singer fell ill, Vishnevskaya easily replaced her. It was from this moment that her stage and singing career began.
The first public success came to Vishnevskaya in 1952. The Moscow Bolshoi Theater held a competition for young performers. At first, they did not want to allow Galina Pavlovna to participate, since she did not have a conservatory education. But the members of the commission condescended and allowed her to perform the prepared number. After the competition, the singer was accepted into the troupe of the Bolshoi Theater as an intern. The further movement towards success was already determined by the taste and efficiency of the singer. It is difficult to find those theatrical stages in Europe and America, wherever a Soviet and then a Russian performer is met with delight.

For her great contribution to the development of national culture, Galina Vishnevskaya was awarded the honorary title "People's Artist of the Soviet Union". She is a Full Knight of the Order of Merit for the Fatherland.
