Konstantin Babkin is a Russian businessman, politician, blogger and just a caring person. Reading his publications in the "Live Journal", you understand that the degree of responsibility of this person is quite high: it extends not only to his field of activity.
After all, if a person is engaged in politics, then he thinks not only about his factory, collective farm or about his area. This means that the whole country is included in the sphere of his interests. It is quite possible that not only.
Biography
Konstantin Anatolyevich Babkin was born in 1971 in the city of Miass, Chelyabinsk region. Everyone in his family reached certain heights in their professions: his father was a candidate of technical sciences, as well as a developer and researcher of secret weapons for submarines, his brother became a doctor of historical sciences, a researcher of the history of the Russian Church.
Konstantin studied at an ordinary school in Miass, and then in a correspondence school of physics and technology at the MIPT of the Miass branch. Miass had an excellent base for sports, and Babkin did not miss this opportunity: he went in for swimming and speed skating. By the senior grades, he already had youth categories in these forms.
Konstantin received his higher education at the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, at the Faculty of Molecular and Chemical Physics. He studied with interest and planned to connect his life with science. He has written several scientific publications on polymers. However, life turned out in such a way that it was necessary to do other things: in 1992, at a very young age, he became a co-founder of CJSC Production Association Sodruzhestvo. The joint-stock company was engaged in the production of industrial goods and developed quite successfully.
Entrepreneur career
After graduating from high school, the young specialist worked in the "Commonwealth", in 2005 became the president of the Industrial Union "New Commonwealth. This is a rather responsible post for a young man, but Konstantin felt the strength for such a post. And he was not mistaken: at present this company includes twenty enterprises that operate in Moscow, Kazakhstan, the Rostov region, Ukraine and even abroad - in Canada and the United States. The main units in this holding are the famous Rostselmash, which produces agricultural machinery, as well as Empils (production of paints and varnishes) and Buhler Industries (production of agricultural machinery and equipment). It is a powerful grouping with an annual production of approximately US $ 1 billion.
The main assets of the Union are held by three founders and managing partners: Konstantin Anatolyevich Babkin, Dmitry Alexandrovich Udras and Yuri Viktorovich Ryazanov. In the nineties, partners were able to "pull out of the swamp" the declining Empils and Rostselmash factories.
In a situation when the entire industry of the country was going through hard times, Babkin took the initiative to restore Rostselmash and reach a new level of production. Specialists-managers with the direct participation of Konstantin Anatolyevich managed to develop a comprehensive program for the strategic development of the enterprise. Then they managed to present it in the right places and get big investments for it. This helped to significantly modernize production, as a result of which the line of products manufactured by the plant was expanded.
This "economic miracle" was reported even abroad. In particular, The Economist magazine wrote that Rostselmash is experiencing a real renaissance: it has established production of its products in thirty-five countries of the world, including Germany.
Since 2004, Babkin has become the president of the Rosagromash Association, which unites manufacturers of agricultural machinery. Since 2017, this organization has been called Rosspetsmash and unites manufacturers of specialized machinery and equipment.
Political activity
Almost at the same time as Babkin became the head of CJSC "Production Association Sodruzhestvo", he became a candidate for deputy from the Novgorod region from "Free Russia" and passed to the Duma of the fourth convocation. Then he was a member of the parliamentary group "Veche", as well as a member of the committee on budget, finance and economics.
His activities and his position in life confirm the expression that in our time the economy has become politics and vice versa. He constantly opposes the economic policy of the government, considering it short-sighted.
In his book "Smart Industrial Policy, or How We Can Get Out of the Crisis", which he wrote in 2008, he assesses the Russian economy and compares it with the actual potential of the country. The book was immensely popular with readers of different views and positions, and was reprinted several times. In 2012, the book was translated into English.
Thanks to the issues that Babkin raised in the book and constantly voiced at various forums, an investigation was carried out on the topic of the increased import of agricultural machinery to Russia with its own existing capacities.
Since 2010, Babkin has been the chairman of the federal political council of the Party of Deeds party and a member of the Bureau of the Central Council of the Union of Mechanical Engineers of Russia.
Babkin opposed Russia's entry into the WTO; he believes that the Russian Federation needs to change monetary, tax and foreign trade policies; criticizes the government for the pricing policy of monopolists - power engineers, Gazprom, etc. It puts forward a large number of initiatives to change the Russian economy as a whole.

Konstantin Anatolyevich now lives in Moscow, he is married and has five children. When he has free time, he likes to go fishing. Among his sports activities, the most favorite were alpine skiing, sport hunting and mountaineering.
