Alexander Bargman is a Russian actor, theater director and consummate master of dubbing. In film and television, he played many bright supporting roles. The beginning of the creative path
Alexander Lvovich Bargman was born on June 20, 1970 in the Republic of Tajikistan. The childhood and youth of the future actor were held in the city of Dushanbe. After graduating from high school, he moved to Leningrad, where he entered the famous Institute of Performing Arts (LGITMiK) on a course with Igor Gorbachev.
In 1991, Alexander Bargman was admitted to the troupe of the Alexandrinsky Theater, one of the oldest theaters in Russia. The debut of the young artist took place in the play "Look for the wind in the field". Soon episodic roles were replaced by serious works in such productions as "Three Sisters", "Othello", "Hamlet", "Boris Godunov".
Alexander Bargman devoted nine years of acting to the Alexandrinsky Theater. As he himself admitted in an interview, over the years he was lucky to work with talented directors - Rostislav Goryaev, Alexander Tovstonogov, Vladimir Vorobyov, Arseniy Sagalchik. It was they who pushed the actor to the idea of directing himself.
From 1999 to 2003, Bargman appeared on the stage of the Liteiny Theater. He took part in productions based on the classical works of Ostrovsky, Chekhov, Ilf and Petrov. In the play based on the play by Tennessee Williams "Iguana Night" played the role of the Reverend Shannon.
Directing and "Such a theater"
“You grow up quickly and begin to realize yourself as something separate, already independent and independent - your own worldview is formed, which requires embodiment in something that is completely and completely done by you,” Bargman said many years later in an interview, answering a question about changing the theatrical profession.
In 2001, together with his friends-actors Irina Polyanskaya, Alexander Lushin, Natalia Pivovarova, he created Such a Theater. The first work of the new creative association was the production of "Callous name days". It was directed by Natalia Pivovarova for the directing exam. This performance was a great success and still remains in the theater's repertoire, being its hallmark. In 2002, "Callous name days" were nominated for the "Golden Mask" award.
The next project of "Such a theater" was the play "Get to the bottom of the truth-2". It was staged by Lushin and Bargman, simultaneously combining the functions of directors, screenwriters, songwriters. Polyanskaya and Pivovarova were involved in the play as actresses. The plot of the production was a parody of Latin American serials. Unfortunately, after the tragic death of Natalia Pivovarova in 2007, this performance was removed from the repertoire.
As a director, Alexander Bargman staged the following plays at Takoy Theater:
- Ivanov (2007) together with A. Vartanyan;
- "Cain" (2009) together with A. Vartanyan;
- Time and the Conway Family (2011);
- "Man of Chance" (2012);
- Testosterone (2013).
Director Bargman also worked in theaters in Novosibirsk and Tyumen. In the provinces, his productions are, in the main, again turned to the classics: "Our Town" by Wilder, "Moliere" by Bulgakov, "Three Comrades" by Remarque, "Kreutzer Sonata" by Tolstoy.
In the St. Petersburg theater "Shelter of the Comedian" Alexander Bargman staged "The Deep Blue Sea" (2008) by Rattigan, "Reluctant Funny" (2010) by Moliere, "Illusions" (2013) by Vyrypaev. In 2013 he also collaborated with the Lensovet Theater in the production of Don Quixote based on Bulgakov.
Since 2013, Bargman has been the chief director of the Komissarzhevskaya Theater. Under his leadership, two performances have already appeared: "Helver's Night" by Vilqvist and "Graphomaniac" by Volodin.
Regarding the choice of plays and his preferences, the director says: “In my life and creative life there is no premeditated drama as such. Everything comes by itself and goes away by itself. This also applies to plays: they themselves come and settle in me. In texts and in drama, I am looking only for a response to what personally touches me."
Movie roles
The debut of Alexander Bargman on the big screen took place in 1990. In the film "When the saints are marching," he starred in the cameo role of a saxophonist. Then there was the main role in the social-fantastic comedy "Misfire".
The actor took part in the TV series "Mole 2", "Secrets of the investigation 2", "Gangster Petersburg", "Admiral", "Leningrad 46", "Mayakovsky. Two Days”,“Trotsky”. Even in supporting roles, Bargman definitely managed to create vivid, distinctive characters.
Scoring films
One of the most fruitful areas of the creative role of Alexander Lvovich is the scoring of foreign films. Back in the 90s of the last century, the Ninja Turtles from the animated series of the same name spoke in Bargman's voice. At various times he had a chance to voice the characters of Tom Hanks, Jim Carrey, Eddie Murphy, Ashton Kutcher, Hugh Jackman and many other actors.
Since 2001, Alexander Bargman has been the official voice of Johnny Depp at the Russian box office. He voiced all major projects with the participation of a Hollywood star:

Awards and titles
Alexander Lvovich received one of the first awards in 1992 at the "Actor-1992" competition. He won Best Debut with the role of Claudius from Hamlet.
Alexander Bargman was twice nominated for the Golden Mask Theater Award for his role as Thorvald Helmer in Nora (2004) and Stanley Kowalski in A Streetcar Named Desire (2007).
In 1999, 2005, 2007 and 2010 he became a laureate of the highest theatrical prize of St. Petersburg "Golden Soffit". Three times Bargman and fellow actors won the Best Acting Duet nomination.
Personal life
