Elena Fadeeva jokingly called herself an "underplayed" actress. However, in character she was free of ambition. Getting a significant role, Fadeeva simply thanked fate. Playing less magnificent roles, Elena Alekseevna entered the image with the same skill. She managed sometimes with one glance, without any words to convey the complex feelings that overwhelmed her heroines.

The future dramatic actress was born on March 25, 19914 in Moscow. The girl's dad was a medical practitioner. Lena at an early age was left without parental attention: first, her father left the family, then her mother died of typhus. From the age of seven, Elena was raised by her aunt and grandfather.
Fadeeva received her first education in a labor school. And in 1929 she entered a technical school, which had nothing to do with creativity: the students comprehended the peculiarities of the bone-processing, perfumery and fat industries. But she had to leave her studies: Elena was plagued by illness.
In the early 30s, Fadeeva worked as a laboratory biochemist at the Moscow Medical Institute. But the chemistry did not attract the girl at all. She wanted to connect her fate with theatrical creativity.
Theatrical career
In 1934, Elena Alekseevna became a student at the theater school that existed at the Moscow Art Theater. I. Bersenev became one of her mentors. Acquaintance with this man had a powerful influence on the further life of the actress. It was Bersenev who offered Elena a job at Lenkom. She played more in extras, but dreamed of the main roles. And then she was lucky: Fadeeva was instructed to replace the sick actress. Elena had to learn the role of Lisa in the famous production of "Living Corpse". The director did not regret his choice. The audience and the management of the theater immediately noted Fadeeva's talented play. Elena Alekseevna played this role for a decade and a half - so successful was the interpretation of the image in her performance.
Critics also spoke warmly about the role of Vera in the play "A Month in the Country". The role of Lucy in the play "The Years of Trials" can be considered an undoubted acting success of the actress.
From the mid-50s, Fadeeva began acting in films, but she always remained devoted to the theatrical stage. For her work in cinema and theater, Elena Alekseevna received the title of Honored Artist of Russia.
Fadeeva managed to create very accurate psychological portraits of her heroines, bringing deep drama and reflection on life to the characters. Most of all, the actress succeeded in the role of mothers. At a time when Lenkom was striving for innovations, Elena Alekseevna sacredly kept the traditions of the old acting school perceived by her. The actress devoted six decades of her life to this famous theater.
Fadeeva was shy, very intelligent and at times even closed. But behind these features hid sensuality, emotionality, the ability to convey the character's inner world at a glance. Those who knew the actress well noted her poetry, purity of thoughts, benevolence and cordiality.
The actress died on June 29, 1999. Her ashes rest at the Golovinskoye cemetery in the capital of Russia.
