Eric Clapton is a renowned British musician, composer, songwriter and performer. He has collaborated with a large number of bands, including The Yardbirds, but is best known for his solo career. He has over 20 studio albums behind him.
Biography
In March 1945, on the 13th, in the small English village of Ripley, which is located in Surrey, the future composer and singer Eric Patrick Clapton was born. Edward Fryer, the boy's father, served in the military and went to the front before his son was born. Eric's mother was a rather windy person, and after her husband went to war, she got married, and left her son in the care of grandparents.
The turning point in the life of Eric Clapton was a concert by the then popular musician Jerry Lee Lewis, which Eric attended at the age of 14. The charisma of the performer and the energy of the hall impressed the young man so much that he firmly decided to become a musician. My grandparents fueled interest in creativity. They bought their grandson a simple electric guitar, with which Eric spent a huge amount of time. This negatively affected his studies - instead of classes, the young man preferred to play the guitar, which led to expulsion.
Career
After dropping out of the Kingston College of Fine Arts, Eric took up musical creativity and for the first time performed on the streets of large cities. In 1963 he was invited to join the young rock band Yardbirds. The group differed from most of the representatives of the heavy scene in a softer, blues sound, thanks to which it gained great popularity from the first years of its appearance.
Clepton made a significant contribution to the formation of the group, he took part in the recording of the album in 1965 and two compilations. The composition For Your Love, which preceded the release of the album of the same name, became a real hit and the team seriously thought about changing the direction in creativity. Because of this, conflicts began to arise between the band members, and Eric Clapton left the musical group.
Playing in various bands as a session musician, Eric combined this with the creation of his own works. The debut disc was released in 1970 and was called quite simply: "Eric Clapton". There were also collaborations, for example, in 2000, Clepton recorded an album with another famous musician BB King. In total, the musician has 23 solo albums, the last of which dates back to 2018 and is called “Happy Xmas”.
Personal life
Eric Clapton has been married twice. The first darling of the famous musician was the English fashion model Patricia Ann Boyd, who for the sake of Eric left her husband. The couple got married in 1979, but five years later Patricia left Clapton, explaining that Eric drank too much. The second time Clepton officially registered his relationship with Melia McEnery in 2002.
