Billy Magnussen (real name William Gregory Magnussen) is an American actor and musician. He began his creative career with a role in the Broadway musical "The Ritz" in 2007. A few years later, he played one of the main roles in the play "Vanya and Sonya, and Masha, and Spike", for which he was nominated for a Tony Award. The audience knows him for the films: "The further into the forest …", "Night games", "Tell me a fairy tale", "Law and Order", "Velvet Chainsaw".

early years
The boy was born in the USA in the spring of 1985. His mother was an aerobics trainer, and his father was professionally engaged in bodybuilding and kickboxing. In addition to Billy, the family brought up two more sons, who were born when the boy was nine years old.
The boy's maternal ancestors were immigrants from Latvia, who moved to the United States during the Second World War. Apparently, their genes manifested themselves in the appearance of Billy, who clearly did not look like a native of America, born with snow-white hair.
When Billy was ten years old, his father was offered a new job. Therefore, the family moved from New York to the small town of Cumming.
Creativity attracted Billy from childhood. During his school years, he participated in all performances, was interested in dramatic art and was fond of drawing.
After completing his secondary education, Billy decided to continue his studies at the College of Art, located in South Carolina. After receiving his diploma, he did not return to Cumming, where, in his opinion, there were no prospects for further creative growth. He decided to go to New York again to find work.
Creative way
Billy's creative biography continued in New York, where he entered the acting school. He also began looking for opportunities to realize his acting talent in film or theater.
Several years passed before Billy got his first serious role on stage. Only in 2007 he was noticed and invited to take part in the production of the Broadway musical "The Ritz".
Despite good reviews from theater critics about the work of the young actor, this role did not bring him success. Then Magnussen starts looking for an opportunity to appear on television.
After going through many castings and auditions, he finally gets an invitation to shoot the series "How the World Turns". Billy's appearance and acting talent attracted the attention of producers, and soon he was invited to a new project - "Wonderful Life".
In the following years Magnussen starred in numerous TV series, among which were: "Law & Order", "C. S. I.: Crime Scene Investigation", "Law & Order. Malicious Intent”,“Unusual Detective”,“Beautiful Life”,“The Good Wife”.
Only in 2010, the actor's career underwent major changes. Billy receives an invitation to shoot the feature film "Night Bloody". He finds himself on the set with famous actors: Demi Moore and Paraker Poizi. After the release of the film, Magnussen began to receive new proposals. He starred in the films: "Twelve", "Hitman's Choice," Lost Valentine.
Magnussen became widely known after playing the prince in the musical film "Into the Woods …". Together with him, such famous actors as: Meryl Streep, Emily Blandt, Johnny Depp, Chris Pine were involved in the film.
In the same period, Magnussen returned to the theatrical stage again. He gets one of the main roles in the play "Vanya and Sonya, and Masha, and Spike", playing on the same stage with Sigourney Weaver and Hyde Pierps. For this role, the actor was nominated for one of the most prestigious theater awards - "Tony".
In addition to working in films, Billy is a professional musician. A few years ago, he even recorded his own compositions with the group The Dash and performed as a bass player with it.
Today, despite being very busy on the set, Billy continues to make music and occasionally performs on stage with the Rondee group.
