Sasha Zavolokin was born in March 1946 in the Tomsk region in a village called Korovino. The boy's parents, Dmitry Zakharovich and Stepanida Elizarovna, were in exile there. Older brother - Anatoly was born in 1938. In 1942, his father was taken to the front. To the delight of the family, all wounded, but alive, he returns from the front. In 1946, Sasha was born, and in 1948, brother Gennady. After Stalin's death, the Zavolokins' family was allowed to change their place of residence. They move to the village of Suzun. Valentina, Sasha's younger sister, was born in this village. In Suzun, Alexander, after graduating from school, enters the Novosibirsk Music College in the balalaika class. But even before college, while attending evening school, the young man managed to work in a local house of culture as the head of a dance club.
Labor activity
The beginning of the labor activity of Alexander Zavolokin can be considered the year 1961 - this is the time when he worked in the Palace of Culture. In 1965, the guy is taken into the army. Thanks to his musical education and talent, he serves in the Novosibirsk Song and Dance Ensemble of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. With this ensemble, Alexander tours the country, participates in many consolidated concerts.
In 1968 he returned home from the army. In 1971, Alexander Dmitrievich was appointed head of the Russian song and dance ensemble of the Kolyvanov Agricultural College. While still a student at a music school, Alexander marries a girl - Raisa, who was also a musician. A couple of years later, the young family moved to Novosibirsk, where Alexander Zavolokin's artistic career began.
Artist career
Having moved to the capital of Siberia, Alexander worked for some time with his brother Gennady in his folk choir. And since 1974, she and her brother have become artists of the Novosibirsk Philharmonic. They perform with their own program, which was called "Chastushka".
The career of Alexander Zavolokin as an artist was rapidly going up. Together with his brother, he toured the country a lot. Performs both in rural houses of culture and in the Column Hall of the Kremlin. Often and many starred in cult programs of that time, such as "Wider Circle", "Good Morning", "Morning Mail". And, finally, in 1985 they created their own program "Play the Accordion", which to this day is successfully broadcast on Russian television.
For his musical merits, Alexander Dmitrievich receives the title of Honored Artist of the RSFSR (1986).
Writing activity
Alexander Dmitrievich Zavolokin from a young age, traveling through the villages, collected and recorded ditties, which later turned out to be wonderful collection books ("Madam Chastushka", "Chastushki of Shukshin's Motherland"). Alexander wrote many songs to the words of Russian poets. He loved Yesenin very much, he loved the lyrics. He wrote lyrical stories, miniatures, short stories. In his essays, he showed the fate of a person, putting into the story that which he was especially worried about in this fate. He loved to describe the beauty of nature. At the beginning of the century, Zavolokin published six books ("Golden Planks", "River-Fate", "Live Spider Web", "And This Is How They Lived" and others).

Alexander Dmitrievich Zavolokin lived with his wife Raisa for 40 years. The famous musician Anton Zavolokin is their son.
For many years, together with his father, he worked in an ensemble called "Vecherka", which was created and directed by Alexander Dmitrievich.
Alexander Dmitrievich Zavolokin died in 2012 in the city of Novosibirsk.
