John Seal has appeared in American films and TV series as a cameraman and director. He made his debut as an assistant cameraman in 1976. He gained international fame after Peter Weir's film "The Witness" (1985), which he shot, and subsequently shot several more films with this director.
John Clement Seal was born on October 5, 1942 in a small town in the southeastern Australian state of Queensland - Warwick (Australia). In addition to Australia, he worked mainly in the United States of America.
Career
The renowned John Seal began his professional career in 1963 on ABC-TV as an Assistant to the Chief Cinematographer. (American Broadcasting Company, ABC is an American commercial television network that was established in 1943. The channel is one of the big three in the United States, and its programs have become an integral part of the country's pop culture). John Seal has taken part in the filming of documentaries, TV series, commercials. In 1970 he moved to the Fauna Products company, where he worked as an assistant operator on the set of the Barrier Reef series and the movie The Queen of Nickel.
In 1976 he made his debut as a director of photography on the set of The Death Cheater. The first films and TV shows with the participation of the operator: "Fat Finn" (one thousand nine hundred and eightieth year) and "The Survivor" (one thousand nine hundred and eighty-one).
In 1984, at the invitation of director Peter Weir, he moved to the United States to shoot The Witness. This marked the beginning of John Seale's international career.
