Childhood

Avdeev Mikhail Vasilievich was born on September 28, 1821 in Orenburg. The Avdeev family was quite wealthy and wealthy, came from an old Cossack family. From an early age, Mikhail studied with the revolutionary poet Tomasz Zana.

Education

Later Avdeev entered the Ufa gymnasium, then studied at the St. Petersburg Institute of Railway Engineers. Mikhail Vasilyevich graduated from the institute at the age of 21 and for the next 10 years, until 1852, he worked in his specialty, reaching the rank of captain.

In 1860, he was carried away by revolutionary ideas and became a member of the Orenburg presence for peasant affairs, two years later he was arrested for assisting in the escape of the revolutionary Mikhailov. From mid-1862 he was imprisoned, spent several days in the Peter and Paul Fortress, and later was exiled to Penza, but already in May 1863 he received permission to return to his native Orenburg.

Creation

From childhood, Mikhail Avdeev was fond of writing. His debut took place at the age of 17 with the piece "Steel Ring".

Mikhail Vasilyevich's creations were published in various magazines and newspapers: for example, in the famous magazine Sovremennik at that time, as well as in the magazines Delo, Otechestvennye zapiski and Vestnik Evropy. The most famous and significant works of the writer are the novel "Tamarin", which is not like any others and reveals the problems of the 19th century, the novel "Pitfall", his other work - "Between Two Fires" is also famous. The most frequent image in the works of Mikhail Vasilyevich is the image of a business man, which distinguished Avdeev from most of the writers of that era. Mikhail Vasilyevich was also interested in the idea of the emancipation of women.

At the same time, being a literary critic, Avdeev published a book of essays "Our Society in Heroes and Heroines of Literature", in which he studied the works of such famous writers as Griboyedov, Pushkin, Turgenev, Lermontov and Sleptsov, and reflected on the influence of society as on the very personality of that or another person, and on her fate.

Mikhail Vasilievich Avdeev died on February 1, 1876 at the age of 55 in St. Petersburg. The writer made an enormous contribution to the development of revolutionary literature. Avdeev wrote a lot about the equality of people, he reflected on the vicissitudes of the soul, the crushing power of morality and the need for sincere love.
