Who are they - the rich people who are not the last lines in the Forbes ranking? It is generally accepted that these are "business sharks" who sweep away everything that prevents them from making a profit on their way. As it turned out, there are other examples, such as Roman Avdeev, a modern banker.
Biography
Roman Ivanovich Avdeev was born in 1967 in the city of Odintsovo. He grew up as an ordinary boy, did not differ in anything special from others. According to him, he studied poorly at school until he realized that knowledge and grades are needed not by teachers, but by himself. Then, in his studies, he began to catch up and make up for the lost.
After leaving school, Roman became a student at the Moscow Power Engineering Institute, where he could study radio electronics. This craze for young people of that time did not pass by and Roman. From the university he was drafted into the army, where he served the prescribed time. And after the army he returned to the institute again, although he was already a family man. During the day he received his education, and at night he worked at various jobs so that the family was provided with everything necessary.
Entrepreneur career
As soon as the law on cooperation was adopted in the USSR, Avdeev created a private enterprise that traded in radio electronics - what he knew about. The aspiring businessman established relations with factories producing components for televisions, supplied computers from abroad.
The business was successful, and Avdeev understood the intricacies of commodity-money relations, lending and other things. And then he realized that in connection with the new laws coming out in the country, he could do banking himself.
As the saying goes, he who seeks will find, and soon Roman Ivanovich became the owner of the Moscow Commercial Bank, which at that time could hardly be called a solid financial institution.
But today it is quite a successful bank, ranking ninth in Russia and eighth in the Moscow region in terms of assets. As for net profit, MKB is in the top twenty in terms of indicators both in Russia and in the region.
So, starting with a package of documents, a single premises and a few employees, you can grow into a respectable banker with some effort. Now Roman Ivanovich is a member of the bank's supervisory board, he is the president of MKB Capital, and runs the Rossium concern.
Avdeev's sphere of interests includes various types of activities. For example, at one time he was engaged in investment in agriculture. And he even created a whole agricultural holding, which was later sold.
Personal life
We can say that the phrase "personal life" does not quite fit Avdeev, because all the time that does not go to work, he spends on his big family, in which, besides him and his wife, there are twenty-three children! To his four, he added foster orphanage children, because he believes that children should grow up in a family, and not in an orphanage, be it at least four times beautiful.
Roman Avdeev is fond of philosophy, and once read in Plato that people are divided into "fathers" and "non-fathers." And if you are not a father, then you will consider that you owe nothing to anyone, but everyone owes you. By the way, there are many such examples now in Russia and the world, when, because of his own selfishness, a husband leaves his family and goes to where it is easier and easier to live.
And if you are a “father” in life, then you will take care of your children, and of strangers, and of your work colleagues. Simply because care is inherent in you from the outset as a need, as a vital necessity.
Moreover, the guardianship of the father is not full support and self-indulgence, namely the upbringing and inculcation of the skills of morality and ethics, morality. And also the opportunity for each child to follow their interests, their choice.
At first Avdeev helped orphanages, and in 2002 he and his wife decided to adopt the first two children. They are sure that in the family the child will receive more correct life guidelines and will better learn to live in society, in society. He will look at how the parents behave and will try to be like them.
And in the orphanage there are many adults, and their functions are still more official than parental. Although Roman Ivanovich continues to help orphanages today.
He also manages to take care of his health: he rides a bicycle, is engaged in jogging, alpine skiing, sometimes he does not mind climbing a mountain peak in mountaineering equipment. All these activities give him experience in overcoming himself, in the struggle with his weaknesses and fears. These are not professional activities, but they are quite sufficient to test yourself for strength.
In his spare time, Avdeev reads books on philosophy, reflects and applies the information received in life - for example, in family and fatherhood.
Like any business person, the banker does not just reason - he does. Thanks to him, there is now the Arithmetic of Good Foundation, which helps to solve the problems of orphans. Roman Ivanovich knows firsthand that a young man or girl, leaving the walls of an orphanage, often turns out to be helpless in front of society: they simply do not know how to live in it, how to interact with people. And they still need to work and it is desirable to start a family.
Therefore, within the framework of the fund, several programs are being implemented that help graduates of orphanages to adapt in life. This is the "Mentor" program for attracting volunteers to communicate with children from orphanages; the "Compass" program for conducting communication trainings and assistance in career guidance for senior orphanages; program "Chance" for distance learning and others.
