From biography

Gennady Dmitrievich Sokolov was born in 1953 in Yeisk, Krasnodar Territory. I have been good at drawing since childhood. He graduated from the Higher Military Topographic School in Leningrad and received the profession of aerial surveyor. After graduation, he devoted himself to service in the Armed Forces. Now he is a reserve lieutenant colonel. Has no art education.

It has been known for a long time that edged weapons were richly decorated, in awe of them and carefully preserved for posterity. In the recent past, artistic weapons were not considered an art form. A new type of weaponry began to develop only at the end of the 20th century.
