The Moscow Metro is more than just transportation. Almost any visitor has to deal with him. In order not to get lost and get to your destination on time, you need to follow a few simple recommendations.

Before going down the metro, you need to decide exactly where you need to get. In most cases, you only need to know the name of the station. You can find the metro map on the Internet, right in front of the metro entrance, or you can install a special application on your smartphone.
Step 2
If you are already standing in front of the metro entrance and cannot use your smartphone or computer, do not be discouraged. On a large map in the metro itself, you will always find a mark showing exactly where you are. Next, you need to find the station you are looking for and see according to the diagram how you can get to it. All metro lines are marked with different colors, which makes it easier to navigate the map. See which line you are on and which line your destination is, find where they intersect. In some cases, you will need one or two transplants. Remember the names of the respective stations.
Step 3
To go down the metro, you need to buy a travel card. This can be done at the checkout or in special machines. If you are going to use the metro only once, you can buy a card for one or two trips at the ticket office, if your plans include regular use of this transport, use the machine and purchase a rechargeable Troika card, in the future you can top it up from the card or cash through the same machines.
Step 4
To go through the turnstiles, you need to press the card against a noticeable bright mark on them and walk to the left. After that, you can go down directly to the platform to the trains. At shallow stations, this will have to be done using a regular staircase; at deep stations, an escalator serves for this purpose. You need to stand on it to the right, leaving a passage on the left for hurrying passengers.
Step 5
Once on the platform, do not freeze next to the exit from the escalator, this will interfere with the movement of other people. Finding your way in the metro is quite simple, in front of each platform there is an information board with an indication of all stations that can be reached from here. All transfer hubs are indicated there, among which you need to find the one you need.
Step 6
Do not be afraid to drive through your station, the next stations are announced loudly on the metro trains, so you just have to listen to such announcements. Having reached the transfer station, get out of the train carriage and pay attention to the information boards located above the platform, where it is most often indicated on which side the crossing you need is located. Quite often, transfer from station to station is carried out by stairs in the center of the platform.
Step 7
After going to another station, study the shields opposite the platforms again to go in the right direction. If you have passed the station, do not be upset, get off the train, cross the platform and go back.
