“Just Maria” is a series about which almost all residents of Russia know, whose childhood passed no later than in the 90s. The series appeared on Russian television screens one of the first in a series of Mexican soap operas, and the whole country followed the ups and downs of Mary's fate.

The series “Just Maria” was exactly the third Latin American creation that could be viewed on TV in Russia. The show was conducted by the first Ostankino TV channel. The very first was the series "Slave Izaura", filmed in Brazil, the second - "The rich also cry", also Mexican. In addition, the series "Santa Barbara" has already been released, which was shown by the second channel, RTR.
Since the audience for all the film series at that time was approximately the same, the TV channels deliberately spaced the shows in time so that people could watch all the episodes of Just Mary and Santa Barbara, which ran in parallel. It will not be an exaggeration to say that at that time the whole country followed the fate of a simple Mexican girl: the phenomenon was completely new, it was interesting even for people far from cinema. How many hours were spent by people in front of TV screens is countless.
The plot of the series
Maria is a simple peasant woman who comes to Mexico City, the capital of the country, to get a job. In a big city, the girl meets Juan Carlos, the young people fall in love with each other. But Juan Carlos is from a wealthy family, their marriage is impossible. He escapes as soon as he finds out that Maria is pregnant.
At home, Maria has a family, whom she wants to help, but in the village she cannot earn money for this.
In the future, Maria becomes famous throughout the country as a fashion designer and designer. Victor Careno, whom she met shortly after breaking up with Juan Carlos, is in love with her, but Maria is indifferent to him. Maria's son grows up and enters the Faculty of Law, where he meets a charming girl Laura, who turns out to be the daughter of Juan Carlos. Upon learning of this, Jose Ignacio, the son of Maria, decides to leave the girl. But love is stronger than hatred, and they soon reconcile.
Victor Careno all this time does not give up his hopes and tries to win the favor of Maria.
If Maria, who is also against the love of her son, reconciles with this, if only he was happy, then the wife of Juan Carlos, Lorena, does not intend to give up. She comes to Maria's ranch, where her daughter and Maria's son live, and shoots Jose Ignacio. Laura, who was pregnant at that time, begins premature birth, she dies. Jose Ignacio does not want to see his daughter, thinking that she is to blame for the death of his beloved.
Over time, Maria realizes that she is already capable of falling in love with someone. She begins to reciprocate Victor's feelings.
