Serge Gnabry is a talented German midfielder currently playing for Bayern Munich and Germany. In the 2018/2019 season, Gnabry became the Bundesliga champion as part of his club. Among the most successful matches in a football player's career, perhaps, can be attributed the match between Bayern Munich and English Tottenham, which took place on October 1, 2019. In it, Gnabry was able to score as many as four goals against the British.

Early years and move to Britain

Serge Gnabry was born on July 14, 1995 in Germany, in the city of Stuttgart. It is known that his father's name is Jean-Hermann Gnabry. He came to Europe from a distant African country - Côte d'Ivoire. And the name of the mother of the future athlete (and, accordingly, the wife of Jean-Herman) is Birgit.

Serge has been playing football since early childhood. Even when he was four years old, his parents sent him to the Weissach club, where he learned the basics of the game for some time. And in 2006, Gnabry ended up in the children's football school "Stuttgart" - the most famous local club. And it was here that its potential could be developed accordingly.

However, there is information that Serge Gnabry in childhood was also fond of athletics and even dreamed of becoming a sprinter. But at some point, he still preferred football.

Already at the age of fifteen, Serge got "on the pencil" to the scouts, who saw in him a remarkable talent. As a result, this led to the fact that in 2010 he became a graduate of London "Arsenal" - this English club paid for a promising young man £ 100,000!

Professional club career

Serge spent the 2011/2012 season with Arsenal's youth team. And for the "adult" team, he made his debut only on September 26, 2012, in a meeting with "Coventry City".

A month later, he had a chance to enter the field as part of the main team of Arsenal in the UEFA Champions League (it was the match between Arsenal and Schalke 04).

At the beginning of the 2013/2014 season, Gnabry began to regularly hit the base. This was due, in particular, to the fact that during that period several key players of Arsenal were injured and had to be replaced by someone.

On September 28, 2013, Serge scored the first goal in his biography in the English Premier League. And in general, at this time he showed a very decent game, which did not go unnoticed: Serge was offered a long-term contract, which was successfully signed by him on October 28.

Gnabry played for Arsenal until 2016, after which he returned to Germany - German Werder Bremen became his new club.

In June 2017, the footballer signed a lucrative three-year contract with Bayern Munich. However, a month later Serge was loaned out for a year at Hoffenheim.

It was only in 2018 that Gnabry, who had gained experience, finally started playing at Bayern on an ongoing basis. On November 3, 2018, he scored his first goal for this club in the Bundesliga. This happened in the match against Freiburg. Gnabry's goal was actually very important and brought the Bavarians a 1: 1 draw.

On December 1, 2018, Bayern played Werder Bremen. And here Gnabry managed to hammer two whole balls into the goal of his former club. The final score of this meeting - 2: 1, won, of course, the Munich team.

In the 2018/2019 Bundesliga season, Gnabry played 30 matches for Bayern and scored 10 goals in them, which can be called a pretty good result. In addition, this season it was the Munich club (and therefore Gnabry, as one of its players) became the champion, two points ahead of the closest pursuer - Borussia Dortmund.

And on October 1, 2019, Gnabry was noted for the so-called poker in the Bayern Munich (poker in football is 4 goals scored by one player in one match). This happened in the Champions League game, where the rival club from Munich was the English "Tottenham". By the way, the total score of this meeting can be called devastating - 7: 2.

It is also worth adding that today Serge Gnabry is considered a very valuable player indeed. Its transfer cost is, according to experts, 60 million euros.

National team career

Serge Gnabry represented Germany in various youth and youth championships, was part of the national teams under 16, under 17 and under 18.

At the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, he was one of the key players of the German national team throughout all six matches, including the final. Interestingly, Germany in the tournament in Rio de Janeiro ultimately took second place - so Serge Gnabry, along with other German players, became the Olympic silver medalist.

On November 11, 2016, the footballer made his debut for the German national team in the 2018 World Cup qualifier against the San Marino national team. Moreover, here he managed to make a significant contribution to the victory of his national team - he became the author of three beautiful balls.

And on October 9, 2019, Gnabry set a kind of record - he was able to score his first ten goals in just eleven games as part of the national team (no other German footballer has achieved such a result so quickly).

A few facts about personal life

In 2016, journalists reported that Serge is romantically involved with Sarah Kerer, the sister of French PSG defender Thilo Kerer. However, there are not so many joint photos of Sarah and Serge on social networks. This suggests that the young footballer does not seek to advertise his private life.

In an interview, Serge said that he is a believing Christian. He attends a Protestant church and even, if the opportunity arises, sings in the church choir.

Gnabry is a big basketball fan and has followed NBA games for years. And most of all, Serge sympathizes with the Los Angeles Lakers team and its leader LeBron James.

Gnabry is also involved in charity work. It is part of the Common Goal organization, which was founded by the Spanish footballer Juan Mata. All members of this organization donate at least one percent of their salaries to charities related to the development of sports around the globe.
