From time immemorial, there has been a problem of generational conflict. The elders often expressed complaints: they say that today's young people are poorly educated, do not respect their parents, and are fond of that. The young, accordingly, did not remain in debt, reproaching the elders for backwardness and misunderstanding. And it continues to this day.

Instructions

Step 1

The reason for the generational conflict is that each new generation lives in different conditions than its predecessors, and therefore has different tastes, habits, and value systems. What, for example, is the difference between today's youth and the youth of the 90s?

Step 2

The last decade of the last century went down in Russian history under an unofficial, but very eloquent name: "Crazy 90s". The collapse of the USSR entailed not only the end of the era of commodity shortages and the possibility of free travel abroad, but also a lot of negative phenomena. The sharp drop in the living standards of the majority of Russians, the rapid growth of crime, romanticized by television and literature, annoying advertising of the cult of money, "strong personality" - all this led to a noticeable decline in moral values in society. Some people in the 90s became cynical, unprincipled, and above all this applied to young people who wanted to quickly achieve success, financial well-being, often at any cost. Among today's young people, there are also, unfortunately, unprincipled egoists and cynics, but they are still much smaller. This is due to many reasons, including the fact that, compared to the 90s, the standard of living of Russians has noticeably increased.

Step 3

Young people in the early to mid-90s experienced a genuine enthusiasm for the Western way of life. She sincerely idealized the order in the United States and many European countries, and also believed that the former era of confrontation with the West was over, an era of cooperation and mutual understanding was coming. It should be noted that many representatives of the older generations thought the same way. All the more shocking for the citizens of Russia was the rapid expansion of the NATO bloc to the east, close to the borders of our country, as well as the bombing of Yugoslavia undertaken by the West, despite the categorical objections of the Russian leadership. Today's youth look at world politics much more realistically. Some young Russians no longer regard the West as either a well-wisher of Russia or a role model, especially against the backdrop of sharply strained relations due to the Ukrainian crisis.

Step 4

For the youth of the 90s, computers and especially the Internet were not something familiar, everyday. Today's young Russians cannot imagine life without the World Wide Web, often getting too carried away by virtual reality.
