Dmitry was born on December 20, 1967 in the family of a doctor and a teacher. His parents broke up when he was a child, so only his mother raised him all his life.
After school, in 1984, Bykov, in love with literature, decided to move in this direction. He entered the Moscow State University, the Faculty of Journalism. He graduated with honors, despite the fact that he was forced to go to the army.
The talent and abilities of the journalist were noted as a student, before receiving a diploma, therefore, as a student, he was published in various newspapers and publishing houses. In the period 2005-2006, he conducted evening programs on the "Youth" (radio station). Later I switched to City-FM and hosted my own program.

Although the writer has several dozen books, his novels have earned many awards. For the first time the writer took up the genre in 2001. It was in this year that Dmitry made his debut with the work "Justification". Dmitry, being one of the opponents of Stalin and the canonization of his personality, tried to create his own version of the events of the 30-40s.

Two years later, Bykov wrote another fantasy novel - Spelling. The scene is 1918. Then, in 2005, the novel "Tow Truck" appeared, one of the most popular. The novel is dedicated to the love of an alien and a girl.

Dmitry Bykov received the following awards:
- Two bronze snails for the novel "Decommissioned" and the novel "Tow Truck".
- Four awards named after the Strugatsky brothers for "X", "Railway", "Tow truck" and "Spelling".
- De awards "Big Book" for the works "Boris Pasternak" and "Ostromov, or the Sorcerer's Apprentice." For these works, Bykov also received the "National Bestseller" in 2011 and 2006.
- The first novel of the writer "Justification" was included in the 50 most striking undertakings of the third millennium according to the version of "Literary Russia".
Personal life
Fortunately, the author found a woman and was able to win her heart. This is Irina Lukyanova, whom the author met during his work in the "Interlocutor". The wife, like Dmitry, wrote works. Other talents include rhythmic gymnastics, poetry and novel writing, and handicrafts. Two children appeared in Dmitry and Irina - a daughter, Zhenya, and a son, Andrei.
