Andrey Rostotsky is a courageous romantic, a talented filmmaker, a stuntman recognized by professionals.
Andrey was born on 1957-25-01 in the capital. His parents were the famous director Stanislav Rostotsky and Nina Menshikova, an actress who played in many Russian films. They devoted their entire lives to work, were constantly absent, then shooting, then expeditions. The boy was raised by his grandmother, who lived in the working-class village of Bogorodsky not far from Moscow.
Childhood and youth
From childhood, Andrei grew up as an active and athletic boy. The fact that he lived practically in the village helped him grow up as a real man, able to stand up for himself and hammer a nail. His main hobbies were pioneer campaigns. Despite the fact that he studied in a special school, he did not show any zeal for learning. Teachers gave up on him, and Andrei was seriously carried away by art. Even in the tenth grade, he became a volunteer in the acting workshop of Sergei Bondarchuk, and then entered VGIK on a general basis.
Shooting and stunts
Rostotsky's career as a film actor began almost immediately after admission, this circumstance almost led to expulsion due to absenteeism. Only the VGIK festival award gave the aspiring actor a chance to continue his studies.
As a student, Andrei performed his first stunt on the set of the film "They Fought for the Motherland", which until now none of the stuntmen can repeat. In the future, the actor tried to perform all the tricks on his own, for this he regularly went in for sports. He was fond of equestrian triathlon, even became a candidate master of sports in this type, had a category in tourism and athletics.
In 1978 Rostotsky was drafted into the army. He served in the Separate Cavalry Regiment, while acting in the film "Squadron of flying hussars". On the set of this picture, the actor met his first wife Marina Yakovleva. The marriage lasted a year and a half. Andrei knew his second wife Maryana from childhood, they lived in neighboring entrances, their parents were family friends. Maryana was 8 years younger than her husband and studied art. In this marriage, the actor had a daughter.
Rostotsky was fond of fencing with historical weapons, was an excellent horseman and acting stuntman. In combination with acting, all this made him one of the most sought-after actors of those years. Films with his participation were always popular with the audience.
Director and traveler
In 1990, in the film "St. John's Wort" Andrei Stanislavovich first acted as a director, and in 1994 he already organized his own film company "Dar". From childhood Rostotsky loved adventure. Together with his friend, Vitaly Sundukov, he traveled around the Crimea, about which he later made a documentary, crossed the United States on an ATV.
Since 2000, Rostotsky, in addition to working in films, taught at the Moscow Institute of Contemporary Art, worked on television, being the author and host of several programs.
In 2002 Rostotsky began filming the film "My Border". Choosing a location for filming in the Sochi Mountains, he fell off a high slope, and the doctors could not save his life. Honored Artist of the RSFSR was buried at the Vagankovskoye cemetery.
