Childhood and youth

Eduard Gennadievich Matsaberidze was born on May 2, 1982 in the city of Gagra (Abkhazia). Some time after the appearance of their son, the family decided to move to the capital of Ukraine - the city of Kiev. Since childhood, Eduard has been interested in rock music and football.

However, Matsaberidze decided to associate his future with another sphere and entered the Khmelnytsky National University at the Faculty of Economics and Management, specializing in “food industry manager”. After graduating from university, Eduard worked for some time as a seller in the market, selling men's suits.

Matsaberidze was born in Georgia, but grew up and began his career in Ukraine, so both countries are close to him.

Career and creativity

Edward began his career as an artist at KVN. He first appeared on stage in 2000, playing for the university team "Tm-tv". Matsaberidze admits that he got into KVN thanks to friends who offered to represent the university team.

Eduard successfully performed on stage, soon the talented guy was noticed and called to the team of the city of Khmelnitsky under the name "Three Fat Men". The team twice became the champion in the highest Ukrainian KVN league. Subsequently, in 2006, Matsaberidze was invited to the Comedy Club Ukraine Kyivstyle, where he performed until 2010.

By the end of the 2000s, Eduard moved to Moscow, where he had more opportunities for career development.

Matsaberidze participated in such popular humorous projects as: "Laughter without rules", "Slaughter League", "Bunker News", "Tochka Yu" and others.

In 2012, Eduard began acting in films, he played the first role in the Russian-Belarusian detective series "SSSR Department", the premiere took place on the Russia-1 channel. Matsaberidze got the role of senior militia lieutenant Suren Sargsyan.

In 2013, he got the small role of the taxi driver Alexei Prikhodko in the series "Classmates". Soon Matsaberidze played in the project that made him truly famous, it is about the infamous series "Sweet Life" (TNT). Edward's hero is a plastic surgeon Tigran, the character appears in all three seasons of the series (2014-2016).

In 2015, the Friday TV channel hosted the premiere of the new travel project Food, I Love You. Eduard Matsaberidze, together with Vladimir Dantes and Nikolai Kamka, traveled to different countries, acquainting viewers with the peculiarities of a particular world cuisine. Edward was the host of the show until season 7.

Personal life

Not much is known about Edward's personal life. He had known his future wife Yulia Ivashchuk since university times, according to Matsaberidze, it was love at first sight. On July 9, 2015, the couple had a daughter, Eugene.

Disease

In May 2018, Edward shocked his fans with the news of the disease. In his Instagram, the TV presenter said that he was diagnosed with lymphoma. Matsaberidze decided to keep his microblog in detail, where he spoke in detail about the stages of treatment. By his example, he wants to motivate cancer patients - not to give up, and healthy ones - to regularly take tests.

In the fall of 2018, Eduard announced on Instagram about the victory over cancer. According to him, humor, support of relatives and friends greatly contributed to this. After completing the chemotherapy courses, the doctors took control measurements, which showed that the lymphoma was gone. Matsaberidze's friends sent him for a consultation to an Israeli clinic, where doctors confirmed that the disease was gone.
