Bikers are not ordinary motorcycle enthusiasts, but people for whom the "iron horse" is a part of life. They are characterized by association with like-minded people and the creation of groups. Bikers can be recognized by their picturesque appearance - bandanas, beards, leather pants and jackets, special massive shoes. Their motorcycles - choppers have a long tilted forks and a front wheel extended far forward, adorned with sparkling chrome and natural leather.
On July 17, 2012 at 18:30, hundreds of members of the Moscow and regional motorcycle clubs submitted collective applications with signatures to the mayor's office, which is located on Tverskaya Street. Bikers want the ban on motorcycles in public transport lanes lifted. Motorcyclists are not happy with the fact that traveling on a dedicated lane can cost them a fine of three thousand rubles.
Bikers believe that such a permit to travel on two-wheeled vehicles on a dedicated lane, as in many European countries, will benefit the city, there is ample evidence of this. The "iron horse" is small in size, so it will not affect the movement of public transport in any way. Moreover, due to the peculiarities of the climate in Moscow, the "season" of motorcycles lasts at most six to seven months.
Motorcyclists also argue their appeal to the mayor that such a permit will reduce the number of vehicles moving between the rows of cars and prevent disorderly rearrangement of cars. The roads will become safer, the number of accidents that have arisen due to the fact that many drivers did not notice small motorcycles will decrease.
Bikers are of the opinion that the number of traffic jams will decrease, which will have a positive effect on the economic sphere of the city. Parking spaces will be freed up and the load on the roads will be reduced, which will make it possible to make costly repairs less often.
Dedicated lanes for public transport first appeared about a year ago. During this time, the movement in Moscow has changed a lot. Only scooters and mopeds can move along the designated lane; on weekends, cars can also use this road. These lanes are 100 kilometers in total.
The highlighted lanes also caused negative emotions among motorists, who believe that this section on the road is not loaded enough, but takes up too much space. In response, Mayor Sobyanin decides to shorten the interval between buses on weekdays. The fine for driving in these lanes outside the weekend was about 1,500 rubles, but it was decided to double it.
