Now the list of his professions will not fit in one line: journalist, TV presenter, editor, satirist, writer, TV director, editor-in-chief.

Lev Yurievich was born in the post-war 1946 in Moscow. His Jewish surname Nevzen is Russified in Novozhenov. Leo's father is a journalist, his mother is a graphic artist. His ancestors lived in the Tambov province and in the Ukraine.

As a child, as Lev Yuryevich said in an interview, he was left to himself. Mom gave birth to him at the age of 18, and when he grew up, everyone considered him her younger brother. He spent his childhood with his grandparents, he even lived in occupied Germany.

Already from the eighth grade, he worked as a mechanic at a factory, earning his first salary. He was an assembler, a repairman, even a concrete worker - a working bone, as they say.

He did not study very well - he had to study Vespers, but nevertheless he entered Moscow State University, although he was expelled for academic failure. To rehabilitate myself, I needed a positive response from the Komsomol construction site, so I had to volunteer for the Achinsk plant.

But for a long time there, the freedom-loving Novozhenov could not stand it - midges, mosquitoes, prisoners and the cold were unbearable, and he returned to Moscow. He worked there, then entered the MPI, at the editorial department. This is how his road to the profession of a journalist began.

How to become a journalist

You can, like Lev Novozhenov, first work as a courier in a newspaper. For example, he started at Vechernaya Moskva. And then start writing - essays, stories, humorous sketches. And if there is talent, then everything will work out.

Novozhenov had a talent, because they began to publish him in the authoritative magazine Yunost and in the newspapers Literaturnaya Gazeta and Literaturnaya Rossiya.

And then his career went on ascending: just a good journalist has grown to the deputy editor-in-chief of the newspaper "Moskovsky Komsomolets" - this is no longer a joke.

Television career

Former colleague Dmitry Dibrov gave Novozhenov a ticket to TV life in 1993: he invited him to Channel 4. Here Lev Yuryevich was the chief director, directed the "Vremechko" program, was the deputy director of the "New Studio". And after 4 years he was already on NTV, where he hosted many different interesting programs. His last work for us on this channel was the program "Ours with Lev Novozhenov", which lasted until 2015.

Lev Yuryevich worked on TV-3, Komsomolskaya Pravda, and Channel One. Today he works as a presenter on the RTVI channel under the heading "Philosophical Minute with Lev Novozhenov", and also teaches at the Moscow Institute "Ostankino".

Personal life

Lev Novozhenov has a wonderful wife Marina, with whom they have lived for many years together. Their continuation is daughter Sasha and granddaughter Ida. They have an excellent relationship with their son-in-law and they love their granddaughter, every meeting with whom is a holiday.

From his first marriage, Lev Yuryevich has a son, Igor, who lives in America.

The Novozhenov family tried to live in Israel, but it did not work out - they are drawn to everything Russian, as Novozhenov himself says, although he himself is a member of the Public Council of the Russian Jewish Congress.
