The army of Japan, consisting of samurai, was distinguished by a fickle composition. To organize these warriors required a stern commander. Under the guidance of such a person, samurai went into battle and almost always achieved victory.

A bit of history

Samurai dates back to the 8th century. It was formed as a result of the Taika reforms (they were carried out by Prince Naka no Oe and his subject Nakatomi no Kamatari). The first representatives of the new class were runaway peasants and free hunters who were looking for work on the borders of the empire. The foundation for the development of samurai was laid by Emperor Kammu in order to overcome opponents. For several centuries, the Japanese knights have done a lot for the good of the country. There was also a period when the samurai, led by their commander, actually ruled the country.

Over time, the people who were part of the caste began to leave it. Each warrior changed his occupation. Already at the end of 1866, samurai was officially abolished.

The most valuable rules of life for a samurai

Behavior in society:

• Don't yawn in front of someone - this is a sign of bad parenting.

• When expressing your thoughts - look into the eyes of the person.

• Do not walk with your hands in your pockets.

• Always respond to letters, even if your message will consist of several words.

• Anyone who grabs a weapon for no reason shows his weakness and cowardice.

Samurai commandments:

• Constantly benefit your commander.

• Remember your duty to your parents.

• Help and support people.

• Do not allow someone to surpass you.

Attitude to life:

• Do not adapt to other people's traditions and laws - this is disgusting.

• Death is always near, so act immediately.

• If a person does not initially control his actions, he will never overcome the enemy.

• Do only those tasks that you are able to complete during the day.

Samurai protection

The most significant means of defense for the warriors was the sword. But they used in battles not only it, but also other options for protection. The samurai simultaneously possessed the art of kendo and mastered the lessons of hand-to-hand combat, archery and javelin throwing. In addition to all this, they were trained to swim and ride a horse.

In Japan, the traditions of the past are still honored to this day. There are quite a few ancient monuments in this country; there are also archives that store ancient manuscripts. All this reminds of the great warriors of the old days.
