The Secret of the Tropicana is a Brazilian TV series. Its content can be called trivial. The action takes place in a small town near Rio de Janeiro. This place - a quiet paradise on earth - has turned for the heroes of the series into a real battlefield, where envy and lies reign, intrigues are woven, hearts break and lovers suffer.
As much passion, deceit and grief as shown in the series, this quiet town has never known in its entire history. Two sisters Ruth and Rockel live here. They are the main characters of the telenovela. Ruth is a girl with a pure soul, bright thoughts, dreaming of great true mutual love. She gratefully accepts everything that fate sends her.
Rockel is the complete opposite of her sister. Dreams of a rich, carefree life and goes to great lengths to achieve his goal. There are no moral principles for her, she is not able to sympathize and compassion. The only thing she really appreciates and loves is money.
The roles of both twin sisters were played by the same actress - Gloria Pires. However, her participation in the series was not limited to this. She has episodic roles of two more characters, between whom serious intrigues are also woven.
Series events
Each episode of the novel is a continuation of a great story. The denouement comes only at the end of the series. Quiet and meek, Ruth returns to her hometown to her family. Here she meets a pleasant young man, Marcos. The girl falls in love at first sight, Marcos reciprocates. Perhaps the lovers would be together and happy if the young man were not a member of a wealthy, influential family.
Rockel, who has long been looking for such a rich groom, destroys the idyll. She runs a real scam, posing as her sister. Marcos, not noticing the substitution, falls in love even more deeply and marries the intriguer. However, Rockel cannot pretend to be meek and sincere for a long time. Soon he realizes that he has married the fiend of hell. He plans to divorce and start life anew. But these plans are not destined to come true.
The twin sisters are caught in a violent sea storm. In the fight against the elements, only Ruth survived. When the girl was rescued, her sister's wedding ring was clutched in her hand. Everyone took her for Rockel and honest, ingenuous Ruth could not miss this chance. It was her turn to plunge into the abyss of lies. Now she began to impersonate her sister in order to be close to her beloved and save the marriage, which she was once deprived of.
The end of the story is interesting, but predictable.
