Horse sculptures in Russian cities
Perhaps the most unusual horse monument was erected in 2007 in Sochi. Its sculptor was Hakob Khalafyan, who similarly made fun of the character with one of the most famous sayings. The sculpture is called "Horse in a Coat". A smiling horse in a luxurious coat sits on a bench, holding a cup of wine in its left hoof, and a smoking pipe in its teeth. He is like a real English gentleman, imposing and unhurried. This humorous monument definitely lifts the spirits of passers-by.
A sculpture of a horse is also installed in Moscow, at the entrance to the central hippodrome. The monument is called "Bathing Horses".
Foreign sculptures of horses
One of the strangest horse sculptures is located in central London. There is a horse's head on the pedestal. The author of the monument is Briton Nick Fiddian, and it was erected in 2009. The weight of the head, about 6 tons, and its enormous size seem incredible. Over time, this monument became a permanent habitat for local birds.
Two more monuments to horses are located in Minsk, the author of these works is Vladimir Zhbanov. The first, called "Crew", is dedicated to the animals that died during the Battle of Austerlitz.
