There is a huge distance between Russia and America - the ocean and several hours of flight. However, all this does not mean that people from these two countries do not contact each other. On the contrary, very often people find friends or loved ones in places very far from their own home. How can you communicate if your interlocutor is in such a distant country? For example, consider how to send a letter to America.
Instructions
Step 1
Deal with your language problems to cope with writing a letter. Remember the school course, look at the notes from the additional education courses. Finally, use an automated translation like Google translate. The latter option is bad enough for translating personal correspondence, so use it only as a last resort. It’s best if you try to write the letter yourself, and then give it to someone who knows the language quite well for review.
Step 2
Buy the most ordinary envelope - Russia has already switched to international postal standards, which means that the envelopes inside the country and abroad do not differ from each other.
Step 3
Write the address on your envelope. In the upper left corner, write the recipient's address. It is written in this order: name, surname, house, street of residence, city, country. Please note that in a Russian address, everything is written in reverse order - first the country, then the city, and after that the house and apartment. In America, address writing standards differ from ours, so try not to mix them up. And of course, write the address in English.
Step 4
Write your address in the lower right corner following the same pattern as the recipient's address. Please also write it in English, because if there are problems with the delivery of the letter, it will have to be sent back to you, and this will be much more difficult if the address is indicated in another language.
Step 5
Purchase a stamp or pay for letter delivery. On the envelope that you send, there must be a stamp (maybe even more than one) or a stamp. This suggests that you paid for the postage of your letter to America. Contact the nearest post office - there you will be given all the information on how to pay for international letters. In the same office, you can pay and send your letter.
Step 6
Use email if all of the above steps are too difficult for you. Just enter your email and be sure that your letter will be delivered to someone from another continent.
