Biography

Alexander Borisovich Kerdan is from the Urals. There, in the small town of Korkino, located in the Chelyabinsk region, on January 11, 1957, the future Russian poet and prose writer was born, who currently occupies not the last place among the representatives of Russian literature and journalism. In his interviews with journalists, Alexander Borisovich practically does not mention his childhood. He does not disclose personal information, so his readers can only guess what brought the future famous author to literature. It is known that the boy's family was far from creative, and living in a small mining town far from the capital could not contribute to the development of his literary talent.

The boy began to write small poems and opuses at school, where he was the permanent head of the school newspaper. The first works of the future famous writer were written in the genre of satire, as they ridiculed truants and poor students. However, at school, no one paid attention to the boy and his poems. Even Alexander himself did not see anything remarkable in this, he did not connect his life with the literary field. However, fate decreed otherwise.

Education

Alexander Borisovich was not going to study literature, but chose a military career. In 1978 he graduated from the Kurgan Higher Military-Political Aviation School with a gold medal and a diploma with honors. Studying was easy for him, since the young man's knowledge base was enormous. In 1990 he graduated from the pedagogical faculty of the military academy, and then the postgraduate course of the Moscow Military University. But a military career did not cancel his literary talent. In the service, he went from a political worker to a military journalist. Alexander Kerdan wrote for the military magazines of the Ministry of Defense: "Landmark", "Warrior of Russia". His writing talent was already recognized at that time. But Kerdan had not thought about great literary works yet.

The desire to continue his education and realize himself in other directions, gave Alexander the opportunity to obtain a PhD in Philosophy, and then a Doctor of Cultural Studies.

Literary career and life

Not seeing literature as the goal of his life, Kerdan begins to write at a young age for pleasure in his free time. His poems are published in well-known Ural newspapers and publications. The first collection of poetry by Alexander Kerdan appeared in 1990. The military career and the duty to defend the Fatherland created for him the main themes of creativity - patriotism, the Fatherland, the country. By 2000, he has become a critically acclaimed literary author. His collections of poetry are translated into different languages of the world. However, Kerdan proved himself not only as a poet, but also as a prose writer. He is fond of Russian history and writes books in the genre of the historical novel. The best known is his dilogy "The Distant Coast" and "The Commander's Cross", in which he describes the development of Russian America and the construction of the famous Fort Ross in California.

Currently, Alexander Borisovich lives in Yekaterinburg, where he continues his literary activity.
