Chris was born in the United States in the summer of 1974. Almost nothing is known about his family and childhood.

Chris has been married twice. The first wife was actress Rosemary DeWitt. They got married in 1995 and lived together for over 10 years. The couple had no children.
The second time Chris became the husband of film producer Jennifer Todd. In 2008, the first child appeared in the family - Milo Motgomery. A year later, the second son was born - Giovanni.
