In early July, a new social and political organization was registered - the conservative party For Our Motherland. Mikhail Yuryevich Lermontov, a full namesake and rumored to be a descendant of the great poet, was elected its chairman. He resolutely refutes the widespread opinion that the impetus for the creation of the party "For Our Motherland" was the manifesto of enlightened conservatism by Nikita Mikhalkov, although he recognizes the similarity of some provisions of the manifesto and the program of the new party.
First of all, according to the founders and leaders of the party, Russia, due to many historical, political, economic and social reasons, can exist only as an empire. There is no alternative to this. At the same time, the program states that it is necessary to combine the imperial essence of the state with the Russian conciliar democracy, the so-called Zemsky Sobor of Russia. Therefore, the party "For Our Motherland" in the basis of its program puts a healthy, genuinely popular conservatism, focusing on the national ideology of Russians.
In the political sphere, the party stands for a strong state power based on the will of the people. The Russian people, as the only source and sovereign of power, must exercise it through the Zemstvo self-government and the Zemsky Sobor of Russia.
In the field of public administration, the party advocates a sharp increase in punishment for embezzlers and corrupt officials, up to the death penalty, as well as for the mandatory declaration of property by government officials and regular polygraph testing. The right of a public official to hold any position must be directly linked to the efficiency of his work and the level of public confidence in him.
In the economic sphere, the party is in favor of revising the results of the loans-for-shares auctions of the 90s, as well as for taking the most decisive measures to raise the national economy, including measures of protectionism in relation to domestic producers of goods and services.
In the field of environmental management, the party's program provides for a set of measures to raise the country's agriculture. Land cannot be the subject of purchase and sale, only its lease (including long-term) is permissible.
In the field of international relations, the For Our Motherland Party has declared the creation of a National Geopolitical Project a priority. The essence of this project is the formation of a single state, which should include Russia, Ukraine, Belarus and Kazakhstan.
