An ordinary person comes to an understanding of the sinfulness of his existence only when events occur to him that radically change his view of the world. At such moments, a person is most vulnerable to impure thoughts and can commit a number of actions that are incompatible with the moral and ethical norms of society. How can you cleanse your soul from sin? Follow these instructions, which are for Orthodox Christians.
Instructions
Step 1
Pay attention to the fact that you cannot get rid of sin, because it is inherent in human nature. Accept this and give your strength to repentance.
Step 2
Determine, in accordance with the principles accepted by the Church, what your sinful nature really is. Or - if you are a secular person - depending on the philosophical doctrine that you adhere to. Do not forget about generally accepted moral standards.
Step 3
Turn to a priest and ask him for advice on what you should do to cleanse your soul from the consequences of sinful indignation. You don't have to be a believer for a priest to give you advice. Still, in order not to run into a militant orthodox, ask your friends or regular parishioners about the person conducting the services.
Step 4
Go to confession, but before that, observe a three-day strict fast, so that the bodily recedes before the spiritual during this sacrament. At the beginning of the day appointed for confession, read the Akathist to the Most Holy Theotokos. In confession about your sin, speak briefly, accurately and concisely answer the questions of the priest, do not interrupt him. With great gratitude, accept the forgiveness of sins. Be sure to place candles in front of the icons of your Holy Intercessors.
Step 5
Pass the rite of exorcism from your soul, if necessary. After the ceremony, come home and read the "Our Father" three times before the icons, and three times - the prayer to your Holy Patron.
Step 6
Use spiritual practices to strengthen your mental essence, but avoid communication with sectarians. Sect leaders for the most part have goals that are completely opposite to yours.
Step 7
Avoid places and people that can make you feel sinful. If possible, take a pilgrimage or journey.
