The choice of children's books is so huge that parents often have a question - what really needs to be read by a teenager. After all, the main criterion of adolescent literature is usefulness and interest specifically for the child. What kind of literature can really captivate a teenager and arouse interest in reading.
If there is a teenager in the family who reads books, this is a great achievement for the parents. But the hardest thing is to keep the spark of interest in literature alive. A child should like books, he does not yet understand Russian classics for all its value. Leave Tolstoy for literature lessons, you can read books for the soul at home. At the age of 14-16, you can and should read Salinger's "The Catcher in the Rye." Adults are often confused about this book. Everything is correct, everything has its time and its own age. Salinger wrote the novel through the eyes of a teenager, so they understand it.
From foreign literature of the 80s, a series of novels about the adventures of Tomek by the writer Alfred Shklyarsky is well read. It is now reprinted, but it is still so popular that it is difficult to buy it in bookstores. But in children's libraries you can find old editions. Look, your child will thank you.
Now children's authors have begun to appear, whose books immediately become bestsellers. For example, "The time is always good" by Andrey Zhvalevsky and Evgenia Pasternak. Even adults read this book!
