Electronic books are usually understood to mean various types of files that contain electronic versions of works previously published in paper form. E-books can be read on the screen of a computer, cell phone, PDA, or a special device called an "e-book" or "reader".

Instructions

Step 1

Download some e-book files on the Internet. You can do this in free online libraries or purchase electronic publications from specialized online stores. Pay attention to the format of the downloaded files. The most popular formats are fb2, ePub, doc, txt and pdf. Books in other formats require special devices to read, for example, Amazon Kindle readers work primarily with Kindle and Mobi formats.

Step 2

Download and install a reading program on your computer, PDA or cell phone. The most popular among these computer programs are Ice Book Reader, Cool Reader and Tom Reader. The choice of e-readers for PDAs and smartphones, as a rule, is determined by the type and brand of the device. The pdf format is best read in Adobe Reader on computers. This format is also successfully supported by some electronic readers, but it is not recommended to open it on cell phones and PDAs, since it is rather difficult to view large pages of such books on the small screens of these devices.

Step 3

Prepare files with books for reading. Usually such files are downloaded in archives. Most reading programs work successfully with zipped files, but it is still advisable to extract books from archives. This must be done so that you can navigate by the titles of the books, and not by the numbers assigned to the archives when downloading from the network library. If the name of the file with the book does not suit you, you can change it. Use Latin fonts because many book readers do not support Cyrillic fonts.

Step 4

Transfer e-books from your computer hard drive to your reader. The best way to do this is to use a USB cable. After the download is complete, disconnect the device from the computer, open the e-book file with the appropriate program and enjoy reading.
