The innermost desire of every inhabitant of any large industrial center, exhausted by constant gas pollution, is to draw full lungs of clean and fresh air. But this is not so easy to do in the conditions of modern megalopolises. The ideal way out of the situation is to go to ecologically clean corners of Russia, where there are still secluded places with untouched nature.

Buryatia

This republic is considered one of the cleanest regions in the country. Buryatia is located in the center of Asia at the junction of several climatic zones at once, from the steppe to the forest-tundra, which has an excellent effect on the ecological situation of this territory. Nature protection is in the first place here, and this allowed the preservation of many unique protected areas. The reserve fund of Buryatia includes about 7% of the republic's area and includes three large biosphere reserves - Baikalsky, Dzherginsky and Barguzinsky. Today, almost a quarter of the coastline of Lake Baikal is under the protection of the state. There are several federal reserves in Buryatia, one of them is the Tunkinsky National Park, which is known for the highest mountain in the republic, Munku-Sardyk, and thermal springs.

Altai

This place on the map of Russia is rightfully called the "green health resort" of the country. It is here that people exhausted by smog rush for the pristine purity of mountain rivers and unique healing air. Here, the secluded corners of Altai have been preserved almost intact, mountain lakes are still clean, and dense forests never tire of turning the air into a real elixir of health. Here are located such natural monuments as the Tavdinsky Caves, the Katun River, Mount Sinyukha, the Kolyvanovskoye, Malinovoye and Maloye Yarovoye salt lakes, and the Denisova Cave. And relict pine forests deserve special love of Altai admirers.

Kabardino-Balkaria

The southern part of Russia is decorated with dignity by Kabardino-Balkaria, the main attraction of which is the Caucasus Mountains with many small mountain lakes and rivers. Near the capital of the republic, Nalchik, there is a cozy resort Dolinsk, surrounded by a ring of mountains. Here in the valley there is a very special microclimate that has a positive effect on the local coniferous and deciduous vegetation. In addition to the clean mountain air in Dolinsk, you can undergo a course of treatment with mineral waters or improve your health by taking baths in hot springs.

Karelia

There is in Mother Russia a unique ancient land - Karelia, painted in green and blue tones. This is a country of transparent lakes and taiga forests. Among 63 thousand lakes of Karelia there are two largest lakes in Europe - Onega and Ladoga. Here you can visit the famous Paanajärvi nature complex, which is protected by UNESCO. The list of national treasures of Karelia includes the ethnographic reserve Kizhi and the famous Valaam archipelago.
