Starting conditions

Levon Hayrapetyan was born on March 12, 1949 in an ordinary Soviet family. Parents lived in the village of Vank on the territory of the famous Nagorno-Karabakh Autonomous Region. My father taught at a local school. The mother was engaged in housekeeping and raising children. The boy grew up attentive and obedient. After the tenth grade, Levon left for Moscow to get higher education at the philosophy faculty of Moscow State University.

A citizen of the Soviet Union of Armenian origin organically blended into the capital's society. The years of study at the university became for him the first stage in his development as a specialist in management. A little later, such people began to be called managers. After the first year, Levon headed the line of the student construction detachment. Hayrapetyan skillfully established contacts with customer enterprises. The soldiers of the construction brigade worked intensively, and always went home with a good salary. At the same time, the commander wrote reports and sketches from the facilities under construction for the Komsomolskaya Pravda newspaper.

Entrepreneurial activity

Being engaged in journalism in parallel, Hayrapetyan did not even imagine that he would become a professional in this matter. An analytical mind and a "light" pen were appreciated in the newspaper editorial office. Levon, who received his diploma, was invited to the staff of "Komsomolskaya Pravda" as a special correspondent. By the early 90s, he had become a well-known journalist and successful entrepreneur, with connections in various fields. In 1988, under his leadership, at the Luzhniki stadium, the USSR's first exhibition-fair of products produced by cooperatives was held.

In 1991, Hayrapetyan became one of the leading shareholders of the Sobesednik Publishing House and took over as director. In subsequent years, he was engaged in the supply of foreign cars to the Russian market. He opened a shop of Swiss-made branded watches. Levon Gurgenovich's entrepreneurial career was developing successfully. He accurately calculated the situations arising in various markets. In 2003, he invested a significant share of his assets in the oil industry. The resulting profit allowed him to provide sponsorship assistance to people living in Nagorno-Karabakh.

Recognition and privacy

Among the large-scale projects that were implemented with the money allocated by Hayrapetyan is the Gandzasar temple complex. The 13th century building was restored and returned to the Armenian Orthodox Church.

Hayrapetyan's personal life turned out well. He got married during his student years. The husband and wife raised and raised four daughters. Levon Gurgenovich died in October 2017.
