Cowboy movies became popular in the middle of the 20th century. Another name for such paintings is Western, which is translated from English as "Western". The action of the films most often takes place in the Wild West in the second half of the nineteenth century, but the time frame may be later. The plot is based on the confrontation between criminals and representatives of the order.
Among the westerns released relatively recently, the film "The Lone Ranger" (USA. 2013) can be distinguished, Johnny Depp took part in the filming of the picture. The plot of the tape is quite simple. A gang of criminals set up an ambush for the law enforcement officers, into which the latter fell. Everyone was killed except John Reid. The ranger wants to get even with the robbers, taking advantage of his death. He accidentally meets the Tonto Indian, who joins him to fight crime.
Another western film can be called the picture "Train to Yuma" (USA. 2007). Among the famous actors who took part in the cinema are Crowe and Foster. The main character of the picture is Dan Evans, the owner of the farm. It was decided to build a railway through his patrimony. In order to save the farm, which is doing poorly, he agrees to join the escort squad of bandit Ben Wade. Dan is tasked with delivering the criminal on a train that will take him to Yuma, where Ben is to be hanged. Everything should go secretly, but the locals will find out about the hotel where they are waiting for the train to depart. The farmer's son appears here. He does not respect his father, but when he puts Ben on the train, the attitude towards his father changes.
Shanghai Noon (USA 2000) is another Western-themed film. Jackie Chan takes part in the film. The film tells how three bodyguards were tasked with rescuing the princess of China who had been kidnapped from the hands of criminals. Secretly, Chon Wang enters their squad and also tries to save her. His partner in this business is a gangster - Roy O'Bannon, with whom they save Pei Pei (princess).
One of the best Western films of the late XX century is the picture "The Fast and the Dead" (USA, Japan. 1995). Among the project participants are DiCaprio, Stone, Jackman. The plot of the film is as follows. A bandit, John Herod, who has captured a small town, organizes a shooting tournament. This event attracts 16 seasoned cowboys - participants. In a one-on-one duel, some participants want to get the opportunity to fight with John Herod himself and get even for past grievances.
Among the films of Soviet production, one can single out the picture "The Man from the Boulevard des Capucines" (USSR. 1987). The cast of the film is impressive: Mironov, Boyarsky, Yakovleva, Karachentsov - they all took part in the filming. This film is a kind of cowboy-themed remake. The picture tells about the following. Johnny Fest arrives in a small, crime-ridden town. With the help of cinematography, he teaches robbers to drink and fight. In a cabaret he meets Diana, with whom they learn what love is. While Festus went to buy gifts for the wedding, Mr. Sacond came to town. He brought new films with action and horror films. After that, the town returns to chaos, drunkenness and fights. Not finding understanding, Festus and his fiancée have to leave this evil place.
