Daron Malakian is the guitarist of the world famous System of a Down (SOAD) quartet and the frontman of Scars on Broadway.

On the road to glory
Daron (Taron) was born on July 18, 1975 in Hollywood. His parents, Vartan and Zelur, traveled to the United States in search of a better life. Mom was a sculptor, father was a dancer, artist and choreographer.
The boy, under the influence of his second cousin, from an early age became interested in the style of "heavy metal". Growing up, he listened to Ozzy Osbourne, Van Halen and collected music records.
Daron dreamed of becoming the band's drummer. But for the eleventh birthday, the parents gave their son an electric guitar.
The child did not hide his disappointment. But the family did not need any problems with neighbors. Namely, they would be drums in a small apartment in the Glendyle area.
The boy took the first instrument in his hands. He was not sent to study the game. Daron received his musical education on his own. He devoted ten hours to the game every day.
During the first year, the future musician trained in tuning and listening to the sound of the instrument. This was followed by the study of chords.
During his senior years at Glendale High School, he was already considered a sensible, albeit very young, guitarist. Malakyan began composing music at the age of seventeen.
The Beatles are among the favorite bands of the future celebrity. The creativity of the Liverpool quartet simply amazed Daron.

Group creation
In the Armenian school where Daron attended, he met Andy Khachaturian and Shavo Odadzhyan. They became colleagues of the musician. Serge Tacnya also studied there and became the leader of their future group.
Malakyan first appeared on stage at sixteen. He made his debut as a member of the Hard Rock Band. A significant meeting with Tankian took place in the early nineties.
Both were members of rock bands. Serge played keyboards, Daron played guitar. On the day of the meeting, both bands rehearsed in the same studio.
The Armenian musicians decided to unite in their own group called "Soil". Domingo Lareno and Dave Hakopian joined the colleagues.
Shavo Odadjian took over the responsibilities of the manager of the new team. After the collapse of Soil, Malakian, Odadzhyan and Tankian formed System of Ae Down.
Since Daron composed not only music, but also poetry, one of them became the name of the new group. In Victims of a Down, the first word was changed to System. This is how the world famous name was created.
A little time passed and the group was replenished with Andy Khachaturian. Malakian took up not only vocals and guitar performance. He became the producer of the band's albums.
Daron founded his own label called Eat Ur Music. His first product was the album "Amen".
Living in the present tense
Malakian lives in Los Angeles. The famous guitarist really does not like various parties and other gatherings. In crowded places, Daron feels uncomfortable.
The only thing he loves is stadiums for hockey matches. The favorite team of the celebrity is the Los Angeles Kings. He loves to listen to music while sitting alone.
