The future singer was born into the family of a military doctor and musician. He was brought up mainly by his grandparents - Berta Davidovna and David Yakovlevich, since Mikhail's mother died.
From an early age, Mikhail showed a love of music, which is why the boy began playing the accordion early, and then went to a music school to study the button accordion.

The musician makes his professional choice quite early, at the age of 15, after completing his secondary education. After graduating from the Moscow School of Music, the future singer receives several specialties - conductor, choirmaster, teacher of music and singing. Having passed the period of touring the cities of our country, Shufutinsky begins successful cooperation with VIA "Leisya, Pesnya".
Forced immigration in the early 80s did not change Shufutinsky's professional attitudes, he forms his own team, which is gradually winning the love of the local Russian-speaking public. Gradually, Shufutinsky accumulates experience of solo performance and performance of songs of his own content in the genre of urban romance. Shufutinsky's first album "Escape" appears in immigration. After returning to Russia, the singer continues his active concert activity, publishes a book of poems. Since 2002 he has been an annual winner of the Chanson of the Year award. In 2013 he received the title of Honored Artist of the Russian Federation.

Personal life
Mikhail Shufutinsky is a widower. In a marriage with Margarita Mikhailovna Shufutinskaya, with whom he lived for 44 years, two sons, Anton and David, were born. Now Shufutinsky has a large family - the children have already given seven grandchildren.
The singer is actively pursuing his professional singing career and is engaged in producing. Last year, two new songs were released, including those recorded by a duet with Anastasia Spiridonova. As a producer, Shufutinsky worked with such Russian chanson stars as: Lyubov Uspenskaya, Maya Rozova and others.
Currently, the chansonnier lives in Moscow.
