Orlov Naum Yurievich is a renowned director. The Chelyabinsk Theater, which the Honored Artist of the RSFSR was in charge of for 20 years, is named after him.
Biography
Naum Yuryevich Orlov was born in February 1924 in the Ukrainian city of Priluki. He had a complete family - mom, dad. Father's name was Yuri Yakovlevich Orlov. When Naum received his secondary education, he went to the city of Kiev to enter the Institute of Theater Arts. In 1949 he left the walls of this educational institution as a certified director and theater critic.
In 1959, Naum Yuryevich was appointed director of the Theater for Young Spectators in Odessa. He has been working here for 5 years. Then Orlov becomes the chief director of another theater in the same city. In parallel, he runs the film actor's studio in Odessa.
Career
Then the famous director moved to the city of Kazan. Here he holds a responsible post at the Drama Theater, and also becomes the chief director. It was in 1965, and after 8 years Naum Yuryevich went to Chelyabinsk, where for 20 years he has been directing the drama theater of this city.
When Orlov served at the Kazan Drama Theater, he also worked as a teacher at a theater school.
Creation
In total, Naum Yuryevich staged 45 performances. When he started working at the Chelyabinsk Drama Theater, the first job in his new position was staging the play "Joseph Schweik versus Franz Joseph". The premiere took place in 1974. Then this performance went on continuously for 17 years.
The production was full of circus elements, dances, the audience really liked it. Almost the entire troupe of the theater was involved here. After all, the director was worried that his actors wanted to work, but, unfortunately, it is very difficult to involve everyone in each production.
In 1975, an outstanding director, who made a huge contribution to the development of theatrical art, staged a patriotic play based on the work of Konstantin Simonov "Russian People". Then Naum Yuryevich puts on the next play - "Til" - about strong heroes, about the liberation struggle. There were premieres every year. So, in 1976 he staged "The Minutes of One Meeting", in 1977 he released a play based on the work of Maxim Gorky.
Naum Orlov appreciated Russian and foreign classics, so his repertoire included works by Shakespeare, Pushkin, Ostrovsky, Bulgakov, Chekhov. Maxim Gorky was considered by Naum Yuryevich to be one of the most beloved classics. The final work of N. Yu. Orlova became a play by Maxim Gorky "The Last". The premiere took place in 2002. Critics wrote that the director managed to modernize the play. The drama taking place on the stage was very relevant at that time.
Naum Orlov worked almost until his last days. He passed away in August 2003. For outstanding services, the great director was awarded various titles, prizes, orders and medals. He became an honorary citizen of Chelyabinsk, the theater of this city bears his name.
